Gravity pulled them into the planet's atmosphere, a dusty haze concealing the rising sun from view. Rock formations jutted up from the desert like crooked gnarled fingers beckoning them toward the droid army waiting below. Battle droids and tanks stood in regimented rows, waiting to blast the invading enemy out of the sky.

Cassandra's pulse sped when she got a close look at the vast number of droids and weaponry. An inkling of doubt took root at her ability to handle the chaos. This was unlike any fight she'd ever been in. 'I hope I'm not in over my head here.'

"We're entering the planet's lower atmosphere." Anakin pushed the ship's controls forward and the craft's nose dipped toward the ground where the droid army waited. "Do it now, Cass!"

Laser bolts shot toward the hull, missing by a hairsbreadth. Cassandra drew the largest portal of her life in front of the gunship. "Okay, fly through!"

The front of the ship pushed through, the liquid glass barrier to the Mirror Dimension parting like water around the vessel. Once the tail slipped past, Cassandra released a shaky breath and closed the portal. "We made it."

"We aren't out of the woods yet." Anakin flipped a couple of switches activating the ship's deflector shields. "We don't know if the droids can pick up our signal in the Mirror Dimension."

"Well, there's only one way to find out. Fly over the army and see if their scanners detect us." Cassandra directed and glanced at her boyfriend askance. "Do all your plans involve improvising?"

The corner of Anakin's mouth lifted. "Only the best ones, right Tip?"

"A lot of the General's plans involve adapting or falling." Clone Trooper Tip agreed in an upbeat tone.

"He's always on the offensive." Another clone added.

Cassandra summoned a smile for the clones seated behind her. She was hyperaware of their presence. These men would be risking their lives for her. She had to avoid any serious mistakes that put them in jeopardy.

Below the battle droids glanced around in confusion, searching for their missing target. Anakin flew low over the droids and tanks, the ship receiving no visible reaction. "Looks like the plan is working."

"That's a relief." Tip remarked and pleased murmurs went through the squadron.

Anakin landed the gun ship at the designated landing zone. The clones filed out of the craft and fanned out along the cliff. Cassandra fumbled with her seatbelt, the bulky armor making it a struggle to unbuckle. "A little help, Anakin?"

The Jedi crouched and untangled her from the seatbelt. He lowered his voice for privacy, tone intimate. "Are you ready, Angel?"

Cassandra went over the singular item on her mental check list. She'd spelled the Jedi's commlinks and the clones' to work between dimensions. Communication is vital in any battle. "I think I have everything covered."
