They spent every moment together, stretching every second into an eternity. Anakin swept Cassandra away into a beautiful dream she had no interest in waking from because she was in the dream with him. Life was absolutely perfect.

Anakin stood in the yard with his head tipped back, staring at the light snow falling from the sky. He turned at her approach, a broad smile breaking over his gorgeous face. "Took you long enough."

Spirit soaring, Cassandra dashed through the snow into Anakin's open arms. "I think we can both agree I'm well worth the wait." He spun her around once and kissed her firmly on the lips before planting her on her feet.

"I studied some maps of the planet." He told her. "There's supposed to be a beautiful waterfall on the east side of the forest. Are you up for a hike?"

Cassandra knew him well enough to know he was hiding something. His casual stance and equally nonchalant expression spoke volumes. "What mischief are you planning?"

Clasping her hands loosely in his, Anakin walked backward toward the trees. "You'll see, my love. You'll see."

Lengthening her stride to keep up with his longer legs, Cassandra followed him into the forest. "Ooh, now I'm intrigued."

An animal skittered out from the underbrush and darted up a pine's knotty trunk vanishing beneath the needles. Anakin fell into step beside her, keeping her left hand clasped in his prosthetic one.

Snow floated gently from the steel gray sky in thick feathery flakes. She tipped her head back, the cool air rushing over her cheeks. Caranda's beautiful winter scape made Cassandra feel a tad closer to home.

New York State had some of the most beautiful winters in the country, snow draping the slumbering land, and icicles dangling from naked tree branches. The pretty patterns frost etched on the windowpanes on a snowy Christmas Eve, the glow from the Christmas lights turning the family living room into a postcard painting.

Sharing a plate of iced holiday cookies and mugs of pekoe tea with her mom while they watched White Christmas.

Dusting a layer of powder from her shoulders, Cassandra beamed at Anakin, excited to make her own wonderful memories with him.
