Marshal Wallace ♊️

Marshal

There's water. It's calm, but the sun is about to go down. I walk the paved path along side it. Koi fish make lil bubbles, others swim around.

I sigh, missing him... missing us.

I can't believe he was in the car with them. I had no idea. He never wanted to smash in his car. It's definitely because of what happened with his folks. I'm so sorry you had to go through-

My body freezes. I try to take a deep breath but only a little air comes in my chest.

Koi... in the koi pound.

I see him, half floating with his head above water.

"Koi?" Comes from me.

When his eyes open, one bloody where it should be white. He turns into a different him.

A younger him...

There's bruises and cuts all over him. His eye stays blood red.

"Let me help you," I panic.

His younger self turns into who I know him as today, but his injuries stay.

They're from the accident?

"Thank you for wanting to help me, but I need to help me too," his voice comes out weak and broken, he closes his eyes.

My body jumps and my eyes shoot open. I sit up, then shield my view from the sun, trying to realize where I am. Air finally get into my lungs fully.

I have to go see him. I-

"I heard they call you little sunshine, but I didn't know it was because of this," Grandmaster chuckles.

Huh?

I focus my eyes. He's standing in front of me, holding a bowl with chop sticks perfectly balanced on top. I sigh and become sad.

Grandmaster gave me an order... to not see you Koi.

I look around, full of all types of feelings. The dream rests in my mind like a bad memory; a nightmare. Grandmaster holds his offering out to me more.

I sigh again and get stomach pains.

I don't want to eat, but I need to.

I give Grandmaster a small smile to show him my appreciation, even thought underneath it, all I can think about is my boyfriend...

I'd prolly just make shit worse... I dont know what to do.

I catch Grandmaster staring straight through me. It makes me put up a front.

"It's Lil," I jokingly correct Grandmaster Awkanatwe.

His eyes light up as he smiles.

"Excuse me, Lil Sunshine," he chuckles.

I sit up off the tree I fell asleep on and look in my bowl. I poke the egg and let it run over the white rice. Before I can even get the food in my mouth good, his words make me stop.

"Carb and protein heavy. You've lost weight... I can tell," his says about the meal he's giving me and my physique.

I slowly eat, confused and concerned still.

"Mm," I nod.

Thoughts about Koi keep my eyes off Grandmaster.

"Thank you," I keep my head low while I eat my food.

I should let the kind of person Koi is ease my worries. Grandmaster taught him so much. Koi has done so much for me and gave me so much love.

"No problem. I'll be cooking for you. I want you to stay out of the cafeteria," he says.

"Not just for the food Grandmaster," my voice strains.

I finally look him in the eyes again, not caring if he sees more of my burdens. His expression is different for a split second.

Shock mixed with concern maybe?

His eyes turn warm and sure quickly. He nods.

"You're very welcome and welcomed, Marshal," he nods.

I've told Koi thanks... but I need to tell him again. Helping ourselves will bring Koi back to me and me back to him, I guess; right?

Girllll. Teaaaa. Pulled this out my snatch.
