Chapter: I'll do it Myself!

Serafin watched in horror as Kitealla dropped the contents of the sparkling purple swirl filled orb into her eyes. She felt helpless as Kitealla lurched forward as it hit her eye, pooling across the bloodshot surface. Serafin screamed, slamming her fists against the protective glass window. She knew wouldn't be able to break it, Scientist Andradel Gathooc had designed the glass to withstand any explosion or other experiment mishaps. It had been fun to test its limits, until now of course.

Kitealla used the metal sill to regain her balance, ignoring Serafin's screams as she shakily applied the rest of the SerumOrb into her second eye, this time using her grasp on the cool surface to brace herself.

Her vision was still blurred and she held herself up dizzily. She had done it, it had finally worked. All this time studying serums and mystico magic, all the remakes, she had finally done it.

After a long minute or so passed with neither girl moving, Kitealla felt a grin spread across her downturned face.

"If it had not worked I would have turned Beast by now." Something in her voice made Serafin freeze, a chill rushing through her body. She had done it. Kitealla of no Mystico blood has created an Orb. not just any Orb, an orb to be used in transformation magic.

"Scientist Gathooc. Apprentice Ashton." Both the girls jumped, as the door to the lab slammed open. Serafin turned quickly to face the Keeper.

"Keeper of Kingdom Two." Serafin gave a small bow, turning back to where Kitealla gaped, that's when she saw it. Kitealla's eyes had changed. They no longer held the deep dark pigment that nearly blended with her pupils. No, Instead they held a blazing glow of violet, a violet deeper than any you will find on even the rarest flower, natural or Mystico altered.

"Apprentice Ashton." Serafin had to force herself away from the glow of Kitealla's eyes and back to the Keeper.

"Keeper?" she mumbled after an awkwardly long hesitation.

"Miss Gathooc claims her creation can grant the recipient near invincibility, and the ability to heal wounds quicker. Did you observe any cuts, Bruises, or scrapes on the recipient beforehand?"

"Yes." Serafin started dutifully and cleared her throat before continuing, "We both got a few cuts on our hands in granting ourselves access to the lab."

"RIght, the broken windows." The Keeper grumbled. Kitealla chuckled slightly, "Well? Are the wounds still there?" Serafin quickly took the key to the room from the Keeper's outstretched hand and rushed to Kitealla's side, grabbing for her hands.

"They are gone." She gaped in amazement.

"You mean they have healed." He corrected.

"How do you intend to test the invincibility factor?" Kitealla was quick to answer.

"FIrst, an average scalpel, then a laser gun. I feel a jump from the roof would be warranted seeing as I also expected an enhanced jumping and running ability along with some impact resistance."

"Kitealla this is insane!" Serafin grabbed her friend's arm.

"Was I mistaken to assume you were acting as Scientist Gathooc's lab assistant, Apprentice Ashton? Need I remind you it is your responsibility to follow her orders without opposition, as such."

"No, Sir." Serafin lowered her voice and reluctantly let go of Kitealla's arm, "I apologize, Scientist Gathooc and Keeper for my disrespect." Before she could finish her half hearted apology Serafin caught the glint of metal in light from the corner of her eye. She turned to stop her, but Kitealla had already drug the scalpel down her arm, leaving the tiniest trace of a scratch that healed within seconds.

Kitealla passed the scalpel off to Serafin, revealing the sharp tip had actually been blunted, and even a bit bent.

"The scalpel has more damage than the Scientist does." Serafin noted aloud. She moved to grab a clipboard and jotted a few notes, putting the scalpel in a container for later proof. She turned back to Kitealla to find her holding the laser gun. Serafin stared at it shakily, knowing where this was going.

"I want you to shoot me, Miss Ashton."

"Right," Serafin rolled her eyes, "Where were you thinking?"

"I don't know I was thinking the head or lower back." Kitealla's voice was stern, her face serious, "Now, Miss Ashton."

Serafin grumbled and wrapped her trembling fingers around the laser. She had come this far, breaking and entering, watching her friend almost kill herself, why not shoot her too? She aimed quickly and shot, not giving Kitealla a chance to move even if she wanted to, another habit from her warrior training. Serafin gasped and dropped the gun backing away slightly.

"It tickled a bit, actually." Kitealla smirked, completely unharmed.

"This serum," The Keeper spoke, trying to hide the awe in his voice, "Could this stand up to Beast attacks?"

"I think it could." Kitealla answered, moving for the door, pausing when she caught her own eyes in a small reflection on the window. She gently circled one of the eyes in the reflection with the tip of her finger before pulling her hand back in a fist and thrusting it at the window. At first, nothing happened. Slowly small cracks started to spread around the outline of her fist, stretching to the corners of the window before the whole thing toppled inward, shattering as if it were raining diamonds on the floor.

Serafin jumped back before following numbly as Kitealla wordlessly marched them toward the roof. It was dark now, a small breeze danced through the air. Kitealla approached the ledge and looked calmly back at the keeper before jumping.

Serafin screamed and raced for the stairs, sliding down the railings to quicken the endeavor. She darted for the entrance to the training field, pushing her way through the doors when she saw Kitealla standing unharmed, but looking quite bored.

"Took you long enough," Kitealla looked up to the roof, "That wasn't nearly as fun as I thought it would be." Serafin composed herself and growled angrily. She leapt forward and pushed Kitealla to the ground.

"You are so lucky your stupid serum works, because I'm going to kick your ass."
