Chapter: Gray walks Iris home
Iris pulled up her jacket hood and leaned against a row of lockers as the bell signaling another passing period rang out. Classrooms full of chattering students spilled out into the hallways. She waited as they rushd passed her in either direction excitedly announcing their weekend plans or worrying about themes. Remaining still and silent as the crowd was quickly dispersing, waiting for the coast to be clear, the second bell echoed through the halls.
Iris hovered for a few more seconds before making her way to the exit, ducking from view of each classroom door she passed along the way. She pushed through the door and stepped outside the school taking a deep breath of the autumn air before burrowing into her jacket and darting off down the sidewalk.
"Itis? Hey way up!" Iris shoved her hands deep into her pockets and walked faster, pretending not to have heard the voice. She watched her feet carefully as the voice called out again.
"Jey, iris, what's the matter with you?" Iris felt a hand on her shoulder, jolting as grayson swung in front of her.
"Oh, hey, sorry. I didn't hear you." Iris mumbled. Gray raised an eyebrow.
"You didn't hear me?" he asked skeptically.
"I was deep in thought." she looked over her shoulder back at the academy before awkwardly pulling away from his grasp and stepping around him.
"So where are you headed? School isn't over yet." he walked beside her.
"I should ask you the same, then, i didn't think you were the kind of guy to skip school. Especially with Matheus there to rat you out. Iris responded mockingly. He looked down at her with an expression of slight annoyance.
"I have a study period." he rolled his eyes, "i'm allowed to leave early."
"Oh." she mumbled, " me too."
"Liar," he laughed, " only the higher levels get study periods."
" so what?" Iris sneered," you gonna tell on me?"
"Hey now, i'm not Benny." he smiled, "So where are you off to?"
"My house."
" me too." he gestured toward his backpack, "got some homework for Benny."
"Benjamin missed school again?" Iris asked.
"Nah he just left early. Didn't have time to grab his work like he normally does.
"Oh, so this is normal?" she half smiled, amused with this new information.
"Uh, he, uh, no." Grayson stuttered, staring off ahead.
"Okay." Iris responded slowly, her mind filling with suspicions as they continued on in silence.

Chapter: Training Gray
"So you're saying I'm better than Ten was already?" Grayson Asked appearing beside a tree.
"He said no such thing." Ten scowled.
"The rate you've been learning your ability is quite impressive." Peggot affirmed from where he lounged on a high tree branch watching the training session, which wasn't quite over yet.
