Chapter: Twelve's Enchanted Hoods

"Guys!" Twelve (Sage) charged at her squadmates excitedly, nearly falling over the large box encased in her arms, "We don't have to wear those masks anymore!" SHe set her box on the table where a few of the other squad members sat, a big grin on her face.

"What do you mean Twelve?" One (Serafin) smiled back, deciding to entertain the girl.

"I learned a type of magic that works like a kind of enchantment, and I finally got it to work." SHe pulled a dark cloak with a silver 1 on the hood from the box and handed it to her captain. One felt the soft black fabric, admiring the blue glitter of thread she had chosen to make them with.

"SO how does this not require a mask?" Four (Peggot) crossed his arms annoyed by the interruption.

"Oh! Well you put om the cloak." She pulled out her own brandishing a number 12 and fastened it around herself, flipping up the hood. It hung low over her face, successfully shielding the glow of her eyes.

"We can still see, and the hood will never fall off." Peggot yanked the hood off her head and raised an eyebrow.

"On its own, you moron." SHe snarled.

"It sounds like a good idea and all, Twelve, but-"

"You don't believe me?" Twelve interrupted her captain, "Three! Fight me!" She yelled at the girl who had so far only observed the scene in front of her.

"What?" she sounded confused.

"Try and get my hood to fall off, without using your hands." She pulled her hood back over her head and kept back into a swift backflip.

"Captain?" Three (Kitealla) looked to Serafin in hopes she would call off the challenge.

"Well? Go knock off the girl's hood." Serafin gave a supportive smile to twelve, who smiled happily until she was met with the sudden impact of Three's fist in her stomach. Despite her pain and lack of breath, Sage forced herself into the air, landing gracefully a safe distance away. Kitealla was fast, and twelve couldn't manage an escape before an arm was slammed into her, forcing her to fly backwards, a tree bringing her to a halt before landing flatly on the ground.

Twelve pushed herself up on her elbows, gasping for air.

"Stop!" One called from the air, landing on the ground in front of Twelve. SHe knelt down on one knee and laid a gentle hand on her shoulder." One gave a smile of praise, "As long as you're sure there are no weird magic bugs, we'll give your hodds a shot.

"It's been fine so far!" Sage squealed happily. One chuckled and helped the girl up.

When they returned to the group Three had already grabbed her own cloak and was sitting boredly back in her seat.

"Thank you for the help." Sage smiled at her. Three smiled back, quickly looking away.

"No problem." She said lightly. Sage shifted awkwardly, feeling her face warm.

"Everyone is to take one of these cloaks," One's voice boomed, "It is to be worn on squad business."
