Chapter: Kitealla and Sage meet and discuss captain's orders

The wind rushed past kitealla's ears in a loud roar as gravity pulled her toward the gray pavement landing lightly on her feet, being sure her hood was pulled low enough and added her own feet to the symphony of sneakers on the cold pavement. Night had fallen and only the white orbs floating through the streets lit the way. Kitealla looked up at the moonless sky and breathed in the city air. She passed through the long lome of small shops with alluring storefronts, but she wasn't stopping here, even if the stores had been presently open. No, she kept walking until she reached the wall enclosing the robust city, a protective measure against what beast lay lurking and making their midnight runs.

Kitealla clutched her hood and looked around, being sure there were no eyes on her before leaping effortlessly into the air and over the high wall . She was off to Medicina, a tiny forest on the outside of kingdom one's capital city, and the supplier of all ingredients an orb maker could fathom, in fact, there was no better place to look for the orb maker she seeked. Kitealla sprinted across the open field, welcoming the dark embrace of the forest trees following a path void of even a single twig through.

"Kitealla." a light voice sounded from behind a bush.

"Sage." she responded stiffly, stopping in her tracks and directing herself toward the bush in one swift movement.

A young woman wearing a large brimmed hat popped up from within the bush holding her findings out for kitealla to take. Kitealla's fingers grazed the woman's as she gently accepted the pink flower, rolling it's blue colored stem between her fingers.

"It can be used in healing orbs." she leapt from the bush. Kitealla raised a brow at the overflowing bag hanging at the girl's waist, the weight of the flowers clearly pulling the strap fastened over her shoulder. Kitealla noted how the cluster of blue stems almost glowing in the moonless air.

"Is this supposed to be of use to me?" Kitealla questioned flatly, reminding herself, much to her disdain, they were meeting strictly on squad business. She flinched as sage's face fell, but it was only a second before the large smile returned and she scoffed,

"Completely useless to you of course, seeing as we are nearly invincible. But," she walked down the path gesturing for kitealla to follow, "i think they are beautiful, and beauty reminds me of you.'' Kitealla held the flower close to her face breathing in the light smell with a scent that could only be described as strawberries, but even those did not do this scent justice.

"We need to discuss the mission." Kitealla pushed forward.

"What of it?" The woman roughly mocked kitealla's authoritative voice.

"Has Yizeldan-"

"Ten." Sage's orange eyes flashed a warning glare.

Has ten found anyone?" correcting herself as safe bent to collect a bundle of brightly colored berries from a rogue tree branch that hung perilously in the grasps of a living tree.

"I believe so. Although," Sage pocketed the bundle and looked to Kitealla, are you sure dragging more people into this is a good idea?" her voice was soft and pained.

"These are captain's orders." She closed her eyelids slightly.

"And do his orders come from the creator?" Sage began again down the trail.

"That business is none of yours i'm sure you are aware, Twelve." kitealla snapped authoritatively.

"Right," sage said with a sigh, "I believe ten's subjects will more than satisfy that man beast."

"Sage." the woman whipped around, hood down and her glowing orange eyes fiery with rage.

"I do not trust that man. After all he has done, turning the RC against us, forcing us all to leave our homes and each other to go into hiding. It is not fun constantly wondering where all our teammates are, whether you are alive or dead. Has he fixed this mess? It seems like he fixed it for himself, at least." her voice gave a high pitched crack, her anger making her shiver.

"What do you mean?" Kitealla questioned flatly.

"That mysterious new keeper of kingdom three? Luccii going off on his own when we went into hiding? Do you think these are coincidences?"
