Since Jonathan was underage, we had to wait for Joyce to bail him out. When she arrived, I noticed Chief Hopper trailing behind.

"Jonathan? Jesus, what...what happened?" Joyce questioned, looking over his bruised face.

"Ma'am." Callahan stood.

"I'm fine." Jonathan muttered.

"Why is he wearing handcuffs?" Joyce questioned.

"Well, your boy assaulted a police officer. That's why." Callahan explained.

"Take them off." Joyce ordered.

"I am afraid I cannot do that." Callahan shook his head.

"Take them off!" Joyce shouted.

"You heard her. Take 'em off." Hopper backed Joyce up.

"Chief, I get everyone's emotional here, but there's something you need to see." Powell stood and joined us.

We watched them leave the station and return with all the supplies we purchased today.

"What is this?" Joyce dug through the box.

"Why don't you ask your son? We found it in his car." Hopper tilted his head.

"What?" Joyce gasped.

"Why are you going through my car?" Jonathan asked Hopper.

"Yeah, isn't that illegal?" I spoke up.

"Miss. Henderson, should I call your mother here, too?" Hopper narrowed his eyes and I raised my hands in surrender before shutting my mouth. He looked back at Jonathan. "Is that really the question you should be asking right now? I wanna see you in my office."

"You won't believe me." Jonathan countered.

Hopper's jaw dropped in disbelief as he stepped towards us. "Why don't you give me a try?"

We moved into Hopper's office and showed both him and Joyce the pictures of the creature. When we explained everything we saw, I expected them to call us crazy...but they didn't.

"You say blood draws this thing?" Hopper asked.

"A theory." I shrugged.

Hopper decided that everyone needed to go home. We went to Nancy's house first, but froze as we noticed a ton of people at her house.

"What the hell?" I muttered.

"I have to go home." Nancy stepped forward, but I grabbed her arm.

"No, you can't." Hopper denied.

"My mom...my dad are there." Nancy argued.

"They're gonna be okay." Hopper continued to watch the scene in front of us.

Nancy pushed off the car and walked around him, trying to get home.

"Hey, hey, hey." Hopper grabbed her arm.

"Let go." Nancy warned. "Let go!"

"Hey! Listen to me. Listen to me. The last thing in the world we need is them knowing you're mixed up in all this." Hopper stated.

"He's right, Nance. We can't help them if we're being smothered by...whoever those people are." I pointed at her house.

"Mike is over there-" Nancy began.

"They haven't found him." Hopper shook his head.

My thoughts immediately went to Dustin. Was he with Mike? Was he okay?
