Eleven was screaming and crying.
"What is that?" Erica looked at El's leg.
"There's something in there." Mike said.
"What-What thing?" I asked.
"A giant monster." Max replied.
"Keep her talking. Keep her awake!" Jonathan ran to the kitchen.
"Hey, hey, hey. Stay awake. Let's get her on this side, on this side." Mike helped El sit up.
"You know, it's not actually that bad. There was a...the goalie on my soccer team, Beth Wildfire, this other girl slid into her leg, and, like, the whole bone came out of her knee, six inches or something, it was insane." Robin rambled, but it was clear it wasn't helping at all.
"Birdy?" I spoke up.
"Yeah?" Robin asked.
"Not helping." I said.
"I'm sorry." Robin apologized.
Jonathan came back over. "El, this is gonna hurt like hell, okay?"
"Okay." El sobbed.
"I need you to stay real still." Jonathan gave her a wooden spoon. "You're gonna want to bite down on this, okay?"
I reached over and latched onto Steve's arm, absolutely wincing at the sight in front of me.
"Do it." Mike nodded.
Jonathan used the hot knife to cut open her skin. El screamed. Jonathan reached in and we all exclaimed. El was screaming.
"Stop! Stop it!" El yelled.
"Stop!" Nancy tapped Jonathan.
"I can do it." El cried.
I felt a hand squeezing my calf and I looked down to see Dustin with absolute disgust on his face.
El used her powers to grab the slug and pull it out of her leg. The glass behind us broke as she screamed. Steve covered my body with his and I covered Dustin with mine. El flung the slug across the floor and someone stomped on it.
There stood Hopper, Joyce and another older man.
We then explained to the adults what's happening. The others explained that there was another Upside Down monster coming after us.
"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins, to stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world." Mike said.
"And it almost did. That was just one tiny piece of it." Max added.
"How big is this thing?" Hopper asked.
"It's big. Thirty feet at least." Jonathan added.
"Yeah. It sorta destroyed your cabin. Sorry." Lucas apologized.
"Okay, just to be clear, this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of gigantic...weapon?" Steve asked.
"Yes." Nancy nodded.
"But instead of screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made its weapon...with melted people?" I continued.
"Yes, exactly." Nancy nodded.
"Yeah, okay. I-Yeah, We're just making sure." Steve shrugged, wrapping his arm tighter around my shoulder.
"Are we sure this thing is still out there, still alive?" Joyce asked.
"El beat the shit out of it, but, yeah, it's still alive." Max said.
"But if we close the gate again-" Will began.
