Eleven was screaming and crying in pain.
"What is that?" Erica stared at Eleven's leg.
"There's something in there." Mike realized.
"What-What thing?" I asked.
"A giant monster." Max replied.
"Keep her talking. Keep her awake!" Jonathan ran off to the kitchen in the food court.
"Hey, hey, hey. Stay awake. Let's get her on this side, on this side." Mike helped Eleven sit up.
"You know, it's not actually that bad. There was a...the goalie on my soccer team, Beth Wildfire, this other girl slid into her leg and, like, the whole bone came out of her knee, six inches or something, it was insane." Robin rambled, but it was clear it wasn't helping at all.
"Birdy?" I spoke up.
"Yeah?" Robin asked.
"Not helping." I whispered.
"I'm sorry." Robin apologized.
Jonathan came back over. "El, this is gonna hurt like hell, okay?"
"Okay." Eleven sobbed.
"I need you to stay real still." Jonathan gave her a wooden spoon to put between her teeth. "You're gonna want to bite down on this, okay?"
I reached over and latched onto Steve's arm, absolutely wincing at the sight in front of me.
"Do it." Mike encouraged.
Jonathan used the hot knife to cut open her skin and Eleven screamed. Jonathan reached in and we all exclaimed.
"Stop! Stop it!" Eleven cried.
"Stop!" Nancy tapped Jonathan.
"I can do it." Eleven winced.
A hand squeezed my calf as I was standing and I looked down to see Dustin with absolute disgust on his face.
Eleven used her powers to grab the slug and pull it out of her leg. The glass behind us shattered as she screamed. Steve covered my body with his and I covered Dustin with mine.
Eleven flung the slug across the floor until a boot stomped on it. We followed the leg and saw Hopper, Joyce and another man standing there.

After each group caught each other up, we discussed the bigger picture. Another monster from the Upside Down was coming for us.
"The Mind Flayer, it built this monster in Hawkins to stop El, to kill her and pave a way into our world." Mike explained.
"And it almost did. That was just one tiny piece of it." Max added.
"How big is this thing?" Hopper asked.
"It's big. Thirty feet at least." Jonathan added.
"Yeah. It sorta destroyed your cabin. Sorry." Lucas apologized.
"Okay, just to be clear, this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El, it's some kind of gigantic...weapon?" Steve asked.
"Yes." Nancy nodded.
"But instead of screws and metal, the Mind Flayer made its weapon...with melted people?" I continued.
"Yes, exactly." Nancy nodded.
"Yeah, okay. I-Yeah, We're just making sure." Steve shrugged, wrapping his arm tighter around my shoulder.
"Are we sure this thing is still out there, still alive?" Joyce questioned.
