We were back at the mall the next day. Dustin and I were back on the roof, checking out the men from yesterday.
"More stuff." I said.
"Yeah." Dustin nodded.
"You know, you don't need those." I motioned to the binoculars.
"But...I feel like a spy...on a mission." Dustin pouted.
"You know, for once, I would like a normal experience. First Will and Barb go missing, we meet a child with powers and find a Demogorgon from another dimension. Then you find a slug that turns into a baby Demogorgon and eats our cat and now...Russians? Seriously?" I groaned.
"Yeah...do you think if I write a book people would believe me?" Dustin questioned.
I gave him a look.
"Stupid...right." Dustin nodded.
We walked back to Scoops to tell Robin and Steve what we found out.
"That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun." Dustin explained.
"Whatever is in that room, those boxes, they're protecting it with their lives." I added.
"But there's gotta be a way in." Robin spoke up.
"Well, you know, I could just take him out." Steve said seriously, leaning on the table.
"Take who out?" Robin questioned.
"The Russian guard." Steve looked at me.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "You?"
"What?" Steve looked offended. "I sneak up behind him, I knock him out and I take his keycard. It's easy."
"Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?" Dustin asked.
"Yes, Dustin, I did." Steve nodded. "And that's why I would be sneaking."
"Well, please, tell me this, and be honest, have you ever actually...won a fight?" Dustin asked.
We all waited for Steve's answer.
I already knew it.
"Okay, that was one time-" Steve began.
"Twice. Jonathan. Year prior?" Dustin corrected.
"I was there. Man you got your ass kicked. Do I count, too, because I slapped you?" I asked.
"You slapped him?" Robin laughed.
"Why are you laughing? It's not funny!" Steve glared at her. He looked back at Dustin and me. "Anyway, that doesn't count."
"Why wouldn't it count? Because it looks like he beat the shit out of you." Dustin argued.
"Yeah, he did." I agreed.
"I would honestly feel better sending Athena after the Russian." Dustin pointed at me.
"Thanks, Dusty." I smiled.
"Really? Your short sister over me?" Steve stood.
"You jealous, Stevie?" I raised my eyebrows.
"I mean, she did finish the Billy fight." Dustin shrugged.
"I saved her in that fight!" Steve continued to argue.
"That just might work." Robin muttered and stood. She ran around us and went to the counter, grabbing the money from the tip jar.
"Robin." Steve called out. She didn't answer.
