"Let!" I yelled, slamming the oar down. "Go!" I hit the bat again. "Of!" Again. "My!" Again. "Boyfriend!"
The bat finally let go and I slammed the oar down over and over until the bat's guts sprayed across me.
With that bat dead, I spun around and used the oar to hit another bat that tried to attack me. I spun in circles, hitting any bat that came my way.
I glanced down at Steve and saw another bat ready to bite him. Before it could, I kicked it with my shoe and slammed the oar down, killing it.
I took deep breaths as I wiped the blood from my face. As I turned to help Steve up, I noticed three figures standing above.
Nancy, Robin and Eddie had matching expressions of shock on their faces.
Steve was panting on the ground and holding his throat as he looked up at me.
"Guess she didn't need our help." Robin muttered.
"You are like...a real life D&D character." Eddie whispered.
I ignored his comment and helped my boyfriend up. "You alright?"
"I think I just fell even more in love with you." Steve mumbled, staring at me with lust.
"Can't even blame you." Robin added.
"Holy shit." Nancy looked around at the dead bats before staring at me. "Nicely done."
"Thank you." I nodded and noticed tiny teeth marks in his skin. "Well, those aren't mine."
He chuckled. "Well, they took a pound of flesh, but other than that, yeah, never better."
I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around him. "I love you."
"I love you, too." He winced, but hugged me back.
"Uh, do you think these bats have, like, rabies?" Robin inspected the dead bats.
"What?" Steve questioned.
"It's just that rabies are, like, my number one greatest fear. And I think we should get you to a doctor, like, really soon because once symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already, like, dead." Robin rambled.
I continued to stare at her as that wasn't helping.
"Unless you want Wisdom there to whack you with her oar, I suggest you stop talking." Eddie whispered.
"Right, I'm sorry." Robin looked down.
Our attention drifted to a screeching sound as more bats flew our way. They landed on the ground in front of us and the five of us stared right back.
"There's not that many. We can take them." Steve nodded. "Right?"
More screeching echoed and a hundred more were flying at us.
"You were saying?" Robin questioned.
"The woods. Come on!" Nancy yelled, running towards the woods.
Steve grabbed my hand and we followed after Nancy.
