"Let!" I yelled, slamming the oar down. "Go!" I hit the bat again. "Of! Again. "My!" Again. "Boyfriend!" I screamed.
The bat finally let go and I slammed the oar down, over and over until the bat's guts sprayed across me.
I turned around, hitting another bat that tried to attack me. I spun in circles, attacking every bat that flew near me.
I looked down at Steve, seeing another bat ready to bite him but I kicked it with my shoe and slammed the oar down, killing it.
I took deep breaths and turned around to help Steve, when I saw Nancy, Robin and Eddie, staring at me in shock.
Steve was panting, holding his throat as he looked up at me.
"Guess she didn't need our help." Robin muttered.
"You are like...a real life D&D character." Eddie stared at me in shock.
I looked down at the dead bats before helping Steve up.
"You alright?" I asked.
"I think I just fell even more in love with you." Steve mumbled, staring at me with lust.
"Holy shit." Nancy looked around again before staring at me. "Nicely done."
"Thank you." I nodded. I walked over to Steve and looked down at his chest. He had tiny teeth marks in his skin.
"Well, they took a pound of flesh. But other than that, yeah, never better." Steve looked back up at me.
I leaned forward, wrapping my arms around him. He winced but hugged me back. "I love you."
"I love you, too." Steve continued to hold me.
"Uh, do you think these bats have, like, rabies?" Robin asked, inspecting the dead bat.
"What?" Steve questioned.
"It's just that rabies are, like, my number one greatest fear. And I think we should get you to a doctor, like, really soon because once symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already, like, dead." Robin said.
I continued to stare at her. That wasn't helping.
"Unless you want Wisdom there to whack you with her oar, I suggest you stop talking." Eddie whispered.
"Right, I'm sorry." Robin looked down.
Our attention drifted to a screeching sound. There were a ton of bats flying towards us.
The bats landed on the ground in front of us as the five of us stood together and stared at them.
"There's not that many. We can take them." Steve nodded. "Right?"
More screeching and a hundred more were flying at us.
"You were saying?" Robin questioned.
"The woods. Come on!" Nancy yelled, running towards the woods.
Steve grabbed my hand and we followed after Nancy.
Max, Lucas and Dustin were brought to the Wheelers where Mike and Nancy's parents, Dustin and Athena's mom, Lucas' parents and Erica and a bunch of cops all sat there staring at them.
They sat on the couch. Dustin in the middle and Max and Lucas on either side of him.
"What exactly were you all doing at the lake?" Powell asked.
"Uh..." They stuttered, looking at each other.
"It's comp-" Dustin muttered.
"We were-We were just going for a walk." Max lied.
