When Max woke up from her hallucination she explained to us, after Nancy and Robin joined us again, that there was a clock in the hallway. Max ran out into the hallway, us following, and pointed to the wall.

"It was here. Right here." Max said.

"A grandfather clock?" Nancy asked.

Max nodded. "It was so real. And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just...woke up."

"It was like she was in a trance or something." Dustin said.

"Eddie said that happened to Chrissy." I added.

Max turned to face us. "That's not even the bad part." She walked back to the office and explained. "Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms. Kelley for help. Uh, they both were having headaches, bad headaches that just wouldn't go away. And then...then the nightmares. Trouble sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things. Bad things. From their pasts. And these visions...they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually...everything ended."

"Vecna's curse." Robin said.

"Chrissy's headaches started a week ago." Max's voice wavered. "Fred's, six days ago. I've been having them for five days. I don't know how long I have. All I know is that Fred and Chrissy both died less than twenty four hours after their first vision. And I just saw that Goddamn clock...so...looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow."

"We are not gonna let you die, Max. Vecna will have to come after me if that creature wants to get to you." I told her, the most serious look on my face.

My kids are not dying.

There was a clang in the hallway and we all looked towards the door.

"Stay here." Steve said, walking over to the door, picking up a lamp. I followed right behind him. "Stay back." He whispered.

"You go, I go." I told him, following right behind him.

Everyone followed us anyway.

There was another bang. Someone was here. Steve held the lamp up, ready to knock someone out. I held out my fist, ready to punch someone.

The person rounded the corner and Steve screamed, causing everyone else to scream.

"It's me!" Lucas screamed.

"Lucas?" Nancy questioned.

"Lucas?" I muttered.

"It's me." Lucas panted.

"Jeez, what's wrong with you, Sinclair!?" Steve yelled.

"I'm sorry." Lucas apologized.

"I could've taken you out with this lamp!" Steve screamed, waving the lamp around. I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry, guys. Sorry." Lucas panted. "I was...I was biking for eight miles. Give me one second. Shit. We've got a code red."

"Code red?" I questioned.

"What?" Steve asked.

Lucas walked over to Dustin. "Dustin. I've been with Jason, Patrick and Andy, and they've gone like totally off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie and they think you know where he is. You're in terrible danger."

"Alright, yeah, that definitely sucks, but we've got bigger problems than Jason right now." Dustin looked over at Max.

Lucas looked at her, too, sensing something was wrong.

We gathered in Nancy's basement and they explained to Lucas about Vecna and how Max is cursed. Robin and Nancy explained who Victor Creel was before going upstairs.
