"Nancy!" Jonathan screamed.
I couldn't lose another friend. How could she have just disappeared?
"Nancy!" I spun in circles.
"Where are you!?" Jonathan shouted.
"Jonathan!" Nancy's voice echoed. "Athena!"
We could hear her, but couldn't see her.
"We're right here! I'm right here!" Jonathan shouted back.
"Nancy! Where are you!?" I yelled.
"Follow my voice!" He added.
"Jonathan! Athena!" She yelled again.
"Follow our voice! We're right here!" I continued spinning in circles, waiting to see Nancy running towards us.
But she never did.
We heard another scream.
"Athena! Look!" Jonathan yelled, grabbing my arm.
I turned around and saw a giant hole at the bottom of a tree. That wasn't the shocking part, the shocking part was that it was glowing.
"What the f-" I began.
"I think she's in there." Jonathan crouched down.
"In the tree?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
We got closer and I noticed its slimy texture.
"Nancy! Follow my voice!" Jonathan yelled into the hole.
"Nancy?" I questioned, unsure if Jonathan had totally lost his mind or not.
A hand reached out of the hole, breaking the slimy webs and scaring the absolute shit out of me. Jonathan and I jumped backwards.
"Jonathan! Athena!" It was Nancy.
Holy shit, it was Nancy.
"Nancy!" Jonathan moved first and grabbed her hand to pull her out.
When he appeared to struggle, I reached forward and helped pull her out. Nancy slowly emerged from the hole and laid on top of us. She was shaking and crying and we said nothing as we held her tightly.
I glanced at the tree as the hole magically turned back into bark.
We made our way out of the woods as Nancy held onto my side for dear life. We went back to her house to figure out what the hell just happened.

Over at the Henderson household, Steve Harrington stepped up to the front door and knocked. Claudia Henderson opened the door and smiled as she saw Steve.
"Oh, Steve! How wonderful to see you." Claudia smiled.
"Hey, Miss. Henderson. Can I speak to Athena?" Steve asked.
"Oh, she went to Nancy's a couple hours ago." Claudia told him.
Steve stared at her for a long moment before nodding. "Okay, uh, thank you."
"Of course. I'll see you around, sweetheart." Claudia waved before going back inside.
Steve walked back to his car and got inside.
Carol, who sat in the back, spoke up. "Not home?"
"No, she's at Nancy's." Steve started the car.
"Let me guess, we're going there." Tommy muttered.
"Maybe she's getting tired of 'King Steve'." Carol mocked.
