Chapter 44 - Serenade

Rielle's POV:

It's already 4 PM nang umalis kami sa office. I actually trying to book a schedule for our date dahil sa sobrang busy namin sa business and all hindi na namin maisip ang lumabas katulad ng mga normal couples. It's my first time to prepare a date para saming dalawa ni Elix and I'm a bit nervous baka hindi niya kasi magustuhan ang mga naisip ko. Pero dapat positive tayo kaya go for the goal na pasayahin si Elix 1.0.

"Are you ready, hon? But first, it's still early kaya may dadaanan muna tayo."

She furrowed her eyes like asking something while looking at me. "Of course I'm ready babe. Saan tayo dadaan?"

"You'll see. Chill ka lang jan." I winked at her, ipinagpatuloy ko lang ang pagdadrive hanggang sa makarating kami sa isang restobar kung saan inirecommend sa akin ni Nia na maganda daw.

Nang maipark ko ang kotse ay inaya ko si Elix sa loob. Most of the people na nadadaanan namin ay pinagtitinginan kami but their eyes are locked to my wife's direction. I can't blame them, she wore a simple yet elegant, form-fitting, long-sleeved white blouse, tucked into her above-the-knee black skirt with a side slit, paired with black stiletto heels. Nakalugay ang black with blue highlights nitong buhok na mas lalong nakakapag patingkad ng kaputian nito. Indeed, she exuded the aura of a model.

When she noticed people looking at her, she hooked her arms onto mine and strolled alongside me going to the rooftop.

The place is too elegant for a restobar. Maraming tao ang nasa loob, ang ibang mga tables ay may mga magkakabarkada, may iba naman na couples lang. May bandang nag peperform sa oras na ito. Nang makapasok kami ay naupo kami sa bandang gitna pero nasa likuran malapit sa bar counter at may lumapit naman na mga crew to take our orders.

"Let's take a bite, hon." nakangiti kong inabot sa kanya yung menu.

Agad naman kaming umorder at matapos ng ilang minuto ay inihain na din naman agad ang mga ito. We took a bite together while listening to the band who's performing on stage na kasalukuyang tumutugtog ng love song.

"Your beauty is so magnificent, hon. Hindi ako magsasawang sabihin yan sa'yo." I said. Hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti sa tuwing nakikita ko siya. Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero whenever I'm near her, may mga nagkakagulo sa tiyan ko. Maybe I'm kinikilig. Like when I'm thinking that this woman in front of me is my one and only wife, it feels like butterflies are flying inside my tummy. Her face turned red when she heard me. "Thank you for being the love story I always dreamed of living."

Mas lalo pa siyang napangiti sa sinabi ko pero wala siyang sagot o anuman dahil nakikinig lamang siya sa mga sinasabi ko.

"Being with you feels like finding the missing piece I knew was once lost." my voice started to sound serious. I even swallowed as I wanted her to hear me. "When Lexa passed away, and you were the one who revealed it, I thought I would be lost forever. But then you came into my life. I never expected that you would love me, just like your twin who loved me endlessly. Perhaps, everything happens for a reason, and God gave me you not because I had lost someone, but because you truly belong to me, and I to you."

Nakatitig lamang ito sa akin pero parang may nangingilid na luha sa mga mata niya.

"Did you know that your smile has the power to brighten even my darkest days?"

"Kahit sinusungitan mo ko non?" irap niya sakin.

"No, you make my heart skip a beat with just a simple smile. Di ko lang pinahalata kasi akala ko gusto mo lang talagang ifulfill yung wish ni Lexa."
