The level of exhaustion that Bellamy was feeling was unlike any other she had ever experienced. She did not sleep. She had buried the dead the previous night. And now, leaning against Minho and Leo, and waiting for Thomas to wake up, she knew where her priorities lay.
She didn't blame Gally, of course. She understood. The deaths that had happened—it wasn't fair. It wasn't even really setting in yet.
But they needed Thomas.
So as he blinked awake, she leaned onto Minho's shoulder. "Finally," she mumbled.
"What the HELL were you thinking?" Chuck blurted.
Thomas sat straight up, eyes wide. "What happened?"
"Gally's taken control," Newt answered, staring down at Thomas in the pit. "Said that we had a choice. Either join him or be banished at sundown with you."
"And the others agreed to that?" Thomas groaned in pain.
"Well considering that Gally has convinced everyone you're the reason this all happened, yeah." Bellamy said shortly.
"Well he's been right so far." Thomas said glumly.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Minho demanded.
"This place—it's not what we thought it was." Thomas said quietly. "It's not a prison, it's a test. It all started when we were kids. They'd give us these challenges. They were experimenting on us. And then people started disappearing, every month. One after the other, like clockwork."
"Sending them up into the Maze?" Newt questioned.
"Yeah, but not all of us."
"Explain," Bellamy crossed her arms with a sour expression.
"Guys, I'm one of them. The people who put you here, I worked with them. I watched you guys for years—even you, Bellamy. The entire time you've been here, I was on the other side of it. And so were you, Teresa."
"What does that—" Bellamy started.
Minho and Leo just elbowed her. "Not now!"
"Why would they send us up if we were part of it?" Teresa questioned, eyes wide in confusion.
"It doesn't matter—"
"He's right, it doesn't matter." Newt said firmly. "Any of it. The people we were before the Maze, they don't even exist anymore. These Creators took care of that. What matters is who we are now and what we do right now. You went into the Maze and you found a way out—"
"But if I hadn't, Alby would still be alive."
"Maybe," Newt said quietly. "But I know that if he were here, he'd be telling you the exact same thing. Pick your ass up and finish what you started. Cause if we do nothing, then Alby died for nothing and I can't have that."
"Damn, that was inspirational." Bellamy mumbled.
"Okay...but we have to get through Gally first—" Thomas started.
"I have an idea. But you're all going to hate it." Bellamy stated.
Everyone glanced at her in surprise. "Premeditated take-over. Why am I not surprised?" Newt murmured.

Playacting, as it turned out, was something that Bellamy rather enjoyed. "Do you really think banishing us is going to solve anything?" Teresa questioned.
