Hanging upside down wasn't half as much fun as Bellamy remembered, though the last time she had done this, she hadn't been chained by her feet like some sort of chicken in a meat locker. But all things considered, the girl was totally relaxed, unmoving, silent—
It was actually unnerving to everyone else. "Great plan, Thomas!" Minho snarked. "Hear what the man has to say. It's really working out for us."
"Oh shut up, Minho," Thomas begged.
"Did she die? Is she dead? She's never this quiet!" Leo said, gesturing wildly at Bellamy, who remained motionless.
"Oh that's bad shit." Minho mumbled with a frown. "Bells!"
She didn't move an inch. "Maybe I can reach the rope—" Thomas strained with all his might, attempting to reach up to the chains—but nothing.
"Enjoying the view?" Jorge gave a slight laugh at the sight of all of them.
"What the hell do you want?" Thomas demanded.
"That is the question!" Jorge explained. "My men want to sell you back to WCKD. Life has taught them to think small. I'm not like that. Something tells me that you're not like that either."
"Is blood rushing to my head or is this shank not making any sense?" Minho whined.
Jorge let out a huff of frustration, gaze falling back on Thomas. "Tell me what you know about the Right Arm," he demanded.
"I thought you said they were ghosts," Newt breathed out.
"I happen to believe in ghosts. Especially when I hear them chattering on the air waves," Jorge remarked lightly. "You tell me what you know and maybe we can make a deal."
No one spoke and Thomas just stammered. "We don't know much."
The entirety of the group dropped a few feet—causing shrieks. But Bellamy did not speak, she did not move, she did not react. She needed this to be her most believable performance thus far.
"They're hiding in the mountains! And they attacked WCKD and got out a bunch of kids!" Thomas said in a breathless tone. "That's all we know!"
"Yo Jorge," One of his men approached, a frown on his face. "What's going on?"
"Me and my new friends were just getting acquainted. We're done now." Jorge said with his own frown.
"Hey wait!" Thomas protested. "You're not going to help us?"
"Don't worry hermano, we'll get you back to where you belong. Hang tight!" With that, Joorge strode off.
As soon as Jorge and his man had disappeared from view and they sounded far enough away, Bellamy's eyes shot open. She shoved herself upwards, arms catching onto her legs. The perks of being short and having good core strength—
Bellamy groaned in effort, finding her stride as she pulled herself into a fully sitting position. With one hand clinging to the chain, she began her task. "What the hell—" Frypan started.
"Shut up!" Bellamy hissed, pulling an object from her hair. The small pin wasn't much, but it would have to do.
"What are you—" Leo started in.
"Picking the lock, dumbass." Bellamy murmured, concentration clear as day on her face.
"Can you go any faster?" Newt cut in.
"Oh my god—" Bellamy nearly wanted to murder her friends, finally picking the lock. "Finally!"
"Okay great, but how are you going to get from the middle of the room to over there?" Teresa demanded.
