Bellamy really wasn't sure how long she had been sleeping for. The first thing she was aware of was that she felt warm—that she felt safe. It was a strange feeling to suddenly have amidst everything.
And admittedly, a foreign feeling to the young woman.
The next thing she was aware of was the fact that someone's arm was slung around her. For a moment, Bellamy tensed, eyes blinking open. And it was only then that she realized that Thomas and her were cuddled up next to each other.
Not even willing to take a chance, Bellamy slid out of his grasp, taking a minute to just breathe a few feet away from him. Looking up at the blue sky, she realized that it was in fact, daytime.
Four, where are you? Cause I'm really really lost right now.
The cawing of a bird caught Bellamy's attention. Before she could stop the crow from pecking through their stuff, Thomas had done it. "Hey, hey! Get out of here!" He commanded the bird.
Everyone seemed startled awake by Thomas's anger at the birds. "Are they gone, then?" Newt asked in a bleary tone.
"I think so," Bellamy said, glancing around.
"We're safe for now. But we do need to get moving," Thomas said.
Leo was on his feet in a few moment's time, standing next to Bellamy. "Sleep well?" She murmured in slight amusement.
The boy's cheeks tinged pink—he had slept next to Newt that night and—
"Did you?" he retorted at her.
She just rolled her eyes. "I did, thank you." Just then, Winston gave a pained wince and Bellamy turned. "Woah, woah, woah—let's take a look at that wound really quick."
The night previous, and under the flashlights, Bellamy had done her best to try and bandage the boy. But she wasn't sure it would be enough. She pressed down on the wound very gently and he hissed in pain.
"Still tender?"
"Yeah," Winston breathed out.
"You're not bleeding anymore though. That's...that's a good sign." Bellamy insisted. "Do you think you can walk?"
Winston forced himself to nod. "Yeah, absolutely."
Bellamy wasn't quite sure that she believed the boy. But they had no choice. They couldn't just stay here.
They trekked upwards through the ruins, finding themselves at the perfect view of the city—well, what was left of the city. Bellamy couldn't help but whistle lowly at the sight of it. This place was trashed.
"Damn, this is...something else." Bellamy mumbled.
"What the hell happened to this place?" Frypan had to agree with her as they walked amongst the ruins.
"I don't know. It doesn't look like anyone's been here in a long time." Newt remarked with a frown.
"I hope the whole world's not like this," Aris added.
"It's not. Chicago's not. At least, it wasn't six months ago." Bellamy insisted.
"You've got a lot of faith in them." Leo murmured.
"I have a lot of faith in my brother."
"You have a brother?" Came the united response from Minho and Leo.
"Four. His—his name is Four. Yeah. Not by blood. But by everything that matters." Bellamy explained. She glanced over at Thomas. "You've got that face on again."
