I woke up in bed, feeling restless. I hadn't slept a wink the previous night, my mind consumed with thoughts of Dominic, specifically his mouth on mine. My mind was in a whirl. What in the world had I gotten myself into? I had let Dominic kiss me, and kiss me hard. A strange fluttering sensation filled my stomach as I remembered the feeling of my lips on his, and the sensation of his his strong hands on my ass. I kicked my feet under the blanket, feeling both confused and overwhelmed by these new, unfamiliar feelings. There was no way I could have a crush on that asshole. I had to tell Lily, right? Definitely, I had to tell Lily. Dominic was her husband!
As I climbed out of bed, still in my pajamas, I made my way to the kitchen. Usually, Lily was the first one in the kitchen at this hour, while Dom liked to sleep in. It seemed like the perfect time to approach Lily and discuss Dominics behavior. But as soon as I reached the kitchen, I froze in the doorway when I saw Dominic sitting at the table, newspaper in hand. He was wearing reading glasses that I had never seen before, which gave him a handsome and disarming quality, almost with a strange sense of tranquility. However, that angelic image was shattered when Dom looked up, noticing my arrival. His eyes lit up, and a smirk formed on his lips.
"Good morning!" He said with a satisfied smile.
My eyes quickly scanned the kitchen in search of evidence of Lily. They landed on a bowl next to where Dominic was seated. It calmed my nerves enough that I stepped into the kitchen.
"Where is Lily?" I asked warily, not sitting down yet, wanting to ensure she would be back to protect me from him.
"Gone to work," He said, his lip curling into a devious smile. "Why? Come back for more?"
I scoffed, folding my arms over my chest. My face was instantly red at the vocalization, the proof that we had indeed done something together. I wanted to forget it, act like it never happened. But Dominic was going to make that impossible.
"No. And I'm going to tell her what you did." I said and his smile never faltered.
"Sure, if you think she won't hate you." He leaned back into his seat and continued to read the paper.
"She wouldn't," I felt outraged he would even suggest that.
"Really? You seemed to enjoy it. You really think she won't mind?" He said without even looking at me.
My jaw dropped, stunned by his audacity.
"I hated it actually, and I hate you." I said, backing my way towards the exit. "So you better pack your bags cause I'm telling her when she gets home."
"Sounds like we better get all the kisses in while we can then," He said with a devious smile, laying the paper down flat.
"Not happening." I stuttered, feeling my panic rise in my chest as he stood up. But he ignored me and continued to approach, causing me to back into the wall as I attempted my escape.
"You can act like you hate it but I know the truth," He said, his arm resting on the wall above me as he stared me down, making me feel small. I was paralyzed with anticipation, my heart pounding like crazy in my chest. When I said nothing, he began to dip his head down, eager to steal another kiss.
"Ryan is coming!" I blurted out quickly and he froze, his gaze darkened. "And Rosie, his girlfriend. I invited them over." I added and his face grew suspicious.
"Thanks for asking first," He said, his voice laced in sarcasm as he took a step back, returning to his seat at the table.
"Sorry," I said, relieved that it seemed to stop whatever he planned to do to me.
"When?" He asked.
"I don't know, anytime." I said. It was true since I had yet to invite them.
He glared over the newspaper at me, clearly irritated.
