Kaia had been somewhat surprised when Master Windu decided that she should come with him to lead the final offensive to liberate the capital of Lessu. She was certain that she'd be sent with Obi-Wan to take the Jixuan desert but for once it seemed like her former Master actually wanted her help.
At the moment, their forces were heading towards Lessu along a cliffside path with AT-TE walkers. Only the enemy ambushed them with several AAT:s that incapacitated the first walker in the line and then the rear walkers to trap the Republic forces where they were vulnerable.
The AT-TE walker carrying both Kaia and Windu shook as it came to a halt after being hit. "We need to get out of here before they shoot us off this cliff," Kaia turned to her former master who, alongside Commander Ponds, opened the hatch.
"Take cover!" Windu ordered the clones before jumping out of the walker. Using the Force, he cracked the window to where the gunner was lying unconscious in his seat and carried the clone on his shoulder.
"We're pinned down!" Ponds yelled as the Separatists continued firing against them.
"Commander, bring out the Lightning Squadron," Windu ordered.
"I want lightning up here now!" Ponds ordered through his comlink.
"Kaia, I want the path cleared," Windu then ordered as the Lightning Squadron was deployed. "Get the injured back," he continued shouting out orders while placing the injured gunner on the ground.
In the meantime, Kaia prepared to Force-push the first walker off the cliff, clearing a path for them. Taking a deep breath, she gathered her strength and thrust out her arms to shove it down.
With the path cleared, they could now continue the assault. The Lightning Squadron came riding in on walkers. Two of the troopers jumped off their walkers and one of them said, "They are all yours, Generals."
Kaia and Windu both jumped up on the walkers and the Jedi Master said, "We will lead the way, Commander."
While Ponds continued leading the remainder of their troops over the cliff, the Jedi led an assault towards where the droids and tanks were shooting against them. Their approach made the Separatists concentrate their fire on them.
Steering her walker to avoid the blasts and jump over explosions, the group eventually reached the tanks and took them out one by one until only spare parts remained spread out across the sandy ground.
After the battle, Windu turned to Commander Ponds and asked, "How many men did we lose?"
The clone commander removed his helmet and with a sigh he said, "Thirty-two, I think. Including command crews of three walkers."
