Jedi Temple, Coruscant, 7957 C.R.C

For days now Kaia had been plagued by dreams of her former home planet. Not dreams of her past — no this was most definitely the future — and for each passing day she grew more confused. Because no matter how much she tried to meditate on it, she couldn't put the pieces together. Yet it left her with a lingering feeling that something was about to happen. Something bad.

Her fears were confirmed one evening when she came upon Master Windu in the hallway and he told her to follow him. At first she feared that she'd done something — and began raking her brain for anything she could have done to earn her former Master's fury — and when she realised what it truly was about, Kaia almost wished Windu had summoned her to scold her.

"I would ask why you all look like someone has died," Kaia said as she entered the communications room to see Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi in there, "but I fear your answer may actually be that somebody has died."

"Trouble on Mandalore there is," Master Yoda said with a heavy sigh.

"On Mandalore?" Kaia asked, immediately tensing. "Have the Separatists attacked them?"

"We don't know that, I am afraid," Mundi sighed just as the doors opened to reveal Obi-Wan.

"You summoned me, Masters?" Obi-Wan said, throwing a quick glance Kaia's way as if to silently ask if she had any idea why they were both there. All Kaia did was avoid his gaze.

No one said a word but Yoda pushed a button and a holographic image of Duchess Satine appeared, "This is a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi. I've lost Mandalore. My people have been massacred and Almec is now the Prime Minister. I can't explain everything now but Almec has the support of the crime families."

Satine glanced over her shoulder, "Obi-Wan, I need your help," she pleaded just as three other figures appeared surrounding her. The image disappeared, but Kaia got a quick glance of their armour and she didn't recognise the red and black design.

"Your thoughts on this, Master Kenobi?" Yoda asked, studying the younger Jedi Master closely.

"Satine has been at odds with the Death Watch for years," Obi-Wan said calmly. "And according to a report from Padawan Tano, they're no longer in league with the Separatists. If there was a takeover on Mandalore it was most likely an independent act caused by the Death Watch alone."

"Without involvement from the Separatists, this is an internal affair for the Mandalorians," Mundi said, looking between Yoda and Master Windu. "I'm afraid we cannot help."

"We cannot just hand Mandalore over to these crime families and let Satine become a martyr," Obi-Wan protested.

"I do not condone the methods used by the Death Watch," Kaia spoke up for the first time since Obi-Wan's arrival, "but one could argue that they have just as much right to rule Mandalore as the Duchess Satine. She won her position from them by war, now they've taken it back."
