Mortis, Wild Space, 7957 C.RC

Kaia did not believe Anakin's assurance that everything was fine but allowed him to guide her up the ramp either way. Obi-Wan took the pilot's seat since the two Jedi Knights were too exhausted by their visit to Mortis to bother fighting who got to fly. Instead they argued who would get to rest on the one 'bed' in the ship.

"You're injured," Anakin told Kaia, concern clear in his voice.

"You just performed some weird Force-test," Kaia argued back, seeing how exhausted he was no matter how much Anakin tried to hide it. "You need to rest more than I do. I just have a sore shoulder and some bruises – and neither will heal if I sleep."

"Why do you have to be so stubborn all the time?" Anakin asked, growing exasperated by her insistence to always do the opposite of what he wanted her to do.

"I could say the same," Kaia shot back.

"Anakin, get some rest," Obi-Wan said without even bothering to turn around. "Kaia, take a seat."

"But-"

"Master Kenobi has spoken," Kaia said smugly. "You better listen to him, Young Skywalker." With those words said, she walked into the cockpit and sat down in the co-pilot chair.

"Don't be smug, Kaia," Obi-Wan told her sternly. "When we get back to Coruscant, you are going straight to the med-bay."

"You're acting like none of you have ever dislocated a shoulder before," Kaia rolled her eyes, placing her feet on the dashboard. Despite how she radiated an aura of calmness, she was anxious to get as far away from Mortis as possible. The hallucinations she had of Kole, Luke and Darth Vader made her want to put as much distance between herself and this place as possible. "I popped it back into place – so it's good again."

"Mmhm," Obi-Wan said, clearly not believing her. He could sense Kaia's anxiety no matter how much she tried to hide it. "What happened after we got separated?"

"I tried to get back to the ship," Kaia said, "and then it was like the ground beneath me disappeared and I woke up in the arena."

"You didn't – see anyone?" Obi-Wan wondered, thinking back to the vision he had of Qui-Gon.

"No," Kaia lied, because how the hell was she supposed to explain the truth?

Yes, I saw my brother from a former life who isn't even born yet – No!

Yes, I saw Anakin's and Senator Amidala's son from another life – Not a chance!

Yes, I saw Darth Vader, also known as Anakin when he turns to the Dark Side – Absolutely not!
