News of another setback for the Republic came with the information of how the Separatists had completed their takeover of yet another Republic planet. Onderon had fully seceded to the Confederacy of Independent Systems under the rule of a new King — Sanjay Rash — one of Dooku's latest puppets.
However many Onderonians refused to recognise the legitimacy of the new King's rule and had formed a rebel group that had taken refuge deep within Onderon's vast and savage wilderness. From an abandoned outpost the rebels began to plot how to take back the heavily fortified capital city of Iziz and with that end the Separatist occupation.
Since it was within the Galactic Republic's interest for Onderon to retake the planets, the Jedi Council had gathered to discuss their next course of action. Kaia and Anakin — along with their padawans — had also been summoned for the meeting since both Jedi Knights had shown their skills repeatedly throughout the Clone Wars.
In the centre of the Council Room two holographic images were projected. One was a native of the planet with black hair, blue eyes and dark skin that held himself with a lot of confidence; Master Yoda had called him Saw Gererra and the name was vaguely familiar to Kaia.
Next to him stood a younger man with brown hair and grey eyes that Windu referred to as Lux Bonteri. He was the son of Mina Bonteri — the former Senator of Onderon — who'd been murdered back when Padmé Amidala had taken Ahsoka with her to Raxus in a failed attempt to open peace negotiations with the Separatists.
"Unfortunately, the only way to reclaim Onderon will be through armed struggle," Lux told the Council. "But we lack sufficient hardware and supplies."
"Onderon is in your King's rule and — at the outbreak of the Clone War he chose to align it with the Separatists," Obi-Wan pointed out calmly.
"Our true King has been silenced!" Saw exclaimed angrily. "The one you recognise is a traitor and a Separatist minion. We need your help to survive this."
"Find a way — we shall," Yoda said, looking deep in thought as he always did.
"We await your answer," Lux said, bowing his head in respect. Kaia then noticed how the young man threw a glance over at Ahsoka before the transmission ended and the holographic images disappeared.
"There are pockets of rebels on many of these planets that just need guidance," Anakin said, addressing the Jedi Masters in the room. "With training and resources they could attack soft targets while the Republic continues to engage them on the battlefield."
