Jedi Temple, Coruscant, 7956 C.R.C

The first thing Anakin did the morning after he returned to Coruscant, and found out about Kaia's secret mission, was locating Obi-Wan to see if there had been any news. All night he tossed and turned with worry for Kaia; he had this strong feeling that she was in danger.

"Obi-Wan," Anakin called when he spotted his master on the opposite side of the hallway. He jogged to catch up with him, "Have-"

"We still haven't heard anything about Kaia," Obi-Wan answered before he could even finish the question.

"Is there any good reason she could have for not contacting the Temple?" Anakin wondered. During some missions, radio silence wasn't a cause for worry for a short period of time.

"Not exactly," Obi-Wan shook his head with a sigh. "But we should have faith in Kaia. If she has not contacted us, I'm certain there is a good reason."

"Then why are you worried?" Anakin asked, studying the older man's mannerism. Years spent as master and apprentice meant Anakin could read Obi-Wan just as well as Obi-Wan read him. While Anakin often had been accused of wearing his heart on his sleeve — mostly by Kaia — Obi-Wan was known for always keeping a cool head and his emotions at bay; that his concern broke through that facade spoke volumes about what kind of danger Kaia may be in.

Obi-Wan remained quiet, a contemplative expression on his face before he said, "Come with me," he started walking again. "I'm meeting with Master Windu and Master Yoda to discuss Kaia's mission."

Anakin was somewhat surprised that Obi-Wan didn't just tell him to not worry but decided to not complain. Instead he silently obeyed and followed his former master through the Temple until they reached a meeting room where Windu and Yoda waited.

"Skywalker," Windu greeted him coldly.

Normally, Anakin might have been annoyed by his hostility but he was too focused on the lightsaber hanging from Windu's belt just beside his own. "That's Kaia's lightsaber," he realised, recognising it immediately even without it being ignited to show its teal hue. "Why do you have her lightsaber?"

A Jedi's lightsaber was his or her life and Kaia would never leave the Temple without hers; especially if she was heading into an active war zone. His stomach twisted into knots as he imagined Kaia unarmed and alone.

"Sent young Solo on a mission, we have," Yoda said. "To hide her identity, bring her lightsaber she could not."

"Her identity?" Anakin asked, gaze shifting between the three Jedi Masters. "Where did she go?" If it was vital for the mission that Kaia didn't have her lightsaber, it couldn't be a battle.
