We found ourselves on day eight of our journey and we were hoping to conclude it within ten. But with how things were going, that goal seemed unrealistic.

"It looks like making to our destination within ten days might be a bust," Ray says to Emma.

She smiles, "yeah. But we're all still alive, so I'm okay with that. But...I am worried about Chris and Dominic's injuries."

"And what Alicia?" I ask, "she was held at gun point, that's not something to take lightly."

"You were held at gun point too," Ray says with a small smirk.

"Wait, what?!" Emma cluelessly exclaims.

I nod and point at Ray, "yeah! He held me at gunpoint the night before we left the tunnels."

"Ray!" Emma scolds, "why would you do that? What if you had pulled the trigger?!"

"She snuck up on me!" Ray argues, "if she got herself killed, that would be her fault!"

"Sure, but you were the one who could have shot me! I would be dead right now!" I add.

Emma laughs as we stare at her, "even though everything is stressful right now, you're able to laugh!"

"Huh?" Ray and I asked.

She nods, "I was so worried that you guys would just stop being yourselves, especially Ray. We've gone through a lot recently," she smiles, "it just makes me happy. I mean, we lost our house, our supporters, Yuugo and Lucas...everything."

Emma frowns, "I've been worried a lot recently. Nothing seems to be going right, but Y/N has helped me realize I should focus on what's in front of me."

I point to myself, "m-me?! I-I haven't done anything!"

She nods, "sure you might think that, but you've helped me a lot more than what you know."

I shake my head as my cheeks heat up, "come on Emma...I-I haven't done anything."

She hums with a smile, "believe what you want to~!"

Suddenly we looked at each other, all having the same feeling, a demon was most definitely nearby.

"Everyone stay back!" Ray announces to the group, "we'll be right back!"

The three of us took off into the direction of the feeling. When we arrived we saw a group of demons surrounding two kids, one had blonde hair and the other had black and white hair. The only weapons they had were spears, that were broken in the blink of an eye.

"We need to save them!" Emma declares as we each shoot a demon, killing them within seconds.

"An arrow?" The blonde haired boy asks, inspecting one of the dead demons.

"Don't move," Ray warns. "Who are you and why are you here?"

"Wah!" The blonde haired boy cries as he drops onto his knees and bows to us, "thank you so much! I was so scared! I thought I was going to get eaten! They ate our guns and our clothes for concealing ourselves! Thank you so much!"

"H-Hey, stop being rude to them!" The other says, "they just saved us!"

"Humans?!" The two yell in unison as they back away from us.

"You just noticed?!" Ray exclaimed.

The two bowed to us, "we're being rude! Sorry!"

I cross my arms, "so are you gonna tell us who you are or..?"

They stand up, "my name is Jin," the duo haired kid says, "and this is Hayato. We can't give details, but we're here on a mission because someone ordered—."

Hayato grabs Jin's arm and begins to shake him while pointing at us, "heeey! Jin! It's them! It's really them!"

Jin's eyes widen, "we've been looking for you under the orders of William Minerva."

Emma gasps, "we've got a group with us. Come on."

We lead the two back to our hideout where they continued to show their gratitude. They also tell us of Minerva's plan and what good he's been doing for us human children.

"Your boss, William Minerva, has been releasing children and destroying farms, and making one giant community...?" Emma asks, making sure she was following correctly.

"Yes, the boss is amazing!" Hayato smiles. "He's smart and sharp! He's like a god to us! In just a year and a half, he's destroyed so many farms! He's saved hundreds of children and is providing for us all!"

"Wow," Lannion gasps.

"I just knew he was a great guy!" Thoma smiles.

"We were also saved by the boss," Hayato pulls the collar of his shirt down to reveal a branding symbol on his chest.

"That design..!" Yvette gasps.

The symbol on his chest was the same as Adam's.

"You said your boss was looking for us," Nat begins. "What does that mean?"

"Did you hear the broadcast?" Jin asks, "he heard that the shelter was attacked, so he sent us to investigate. The boss was worried."

Oliver nods, "we heard the broadcast. We were headed to the location he gave."

"Allow us to lead you to our base," Jin offers. "The base has food and places to sleep, not only that, but medicine and a medical facility."

Gilda crosses her arms, "and your base hasn't been discovered?"

"Nope!" Hayato smiles.

"And how far is your base, Jin?" Ray asks.

"The Jaw Of The Lion is just a rock, and it's a halfway point." Jin admits, "from there it's a two days walk."

"I'm sorry for suspecting you all," Ray apologizes, "we'll gladly take your offer."

Ray and Jin then shake hands, solidifying the deal.

Anna speaks up, "b-but are you sure it's safe to trust us? We're just outsiders."

Hayato gives us a thumbs up with a smile, "don't worry! The boss wants you all and you saved our lives."

Jin nods, "if you follow us, we'll arrive within three days."

"You hear that Dominic?" Jemima asks the sickly kid, "you just have to hold out a bit longer!"

Emma smiles, "and Chris will get medical attention."

"Chris' condition has gotten worse," Sandy informs, "his breathing is weaker, and his pulse...plus, his fever is higher."

"At this rate," Zack begins, "he won't make it."

Hayato calls out to us, "hey, there's still a way to save him. There's a farm nearby. We can sneak in and take the medicine that we need. We'll take you there."
