Season 5 Episode 5 Necessary Sacrifice

Luna's POV

Me, Ren, Nora, Jaune and Ruby are cooking dinner as Qrow when't out to drink and Oscar is down stairs doing some more training. 

"Hey Luna?" Ruby says as I hum in response. "Do you mind going to go get Oscar for dinner?"

"Yeah." I say as I put the knife down from cutting carrots and start heading down stairs. As I walk all the way down the stairs as see Oscar practicing fighting with his cane. He swings the cane down and lets out a scream.

"Your really improving." I say as I lean against the wall. "Also its almost dinner time so I am here to retrieve you." I say as I smile.

"Uh yeah. That sounds good. I was about to call it a night any way." Oscar says as he scratches the back of his neck. 

"So you've never fought before?" I ask him as I push off the wall. 

"Just the occasional small Grimm. Nothing like this though." Oscar says as he puts his hand to his side.

"Well I will have to admit you look like a natural." I say as I take a few steps forward.

"It's strange. I've only had this cane for a few weeks but. I feel like I've had it for a life time. longer even. I sound like a crasy person." Oscar says as he looks down.

"No you don't. I mean maybe a little but I also understand what you are talking about. And at the pace your going you'll be combat ready in no time." I say as my smile drops as I start to think about Penny and I turn around. "I'll see you upstairs." I say as I start to walk away.

"How do you handle all of this!?!" Oscar asks out loudly. My eyes widen.

"Pardon me?" I ask as I turn around to face him.

"I'm scared.... I'm more scared than I've ever been in my life. That I never thought was possible. I always know that I wanted to be more than a farm hand. But this." Oscar says as he walks over any puts his cane on a stand with the rest of our weapons. "Who would ask for this." He says as tears start to spill out of his eyes. He then shrinks his cane and puts it in his back pack.

"We all whent to beacon because we wanted to help people. But your right. None of us asked for this. We just have to continue to go forward an-" I say as I go to put a hand on his shoulder but he stands up and faces me cutting me off.

"How can you be so confident?!? People have tried to kill you! The world is about to go to war all over again! How are you okay with any of this!?!!" Oscar yells at me. I look down as I start to think about my past.

"I have been through a lot in my life. When beacon fell, I lost two of my friends. Pyrrha Nikos. She was the most kindhearted person ever. And she risked her life for all off us to be here today. She always had a smile helping others before she helped herself. And Penny Polendina The sweetest and nicest person ever. She wouldn't hurt a fly. They we're the most kindhearted people I've ever met. But that didn't save them. They both died protecting us. Protecting the whole world. Pyrrha always told me that if there is a small chance of helping someone. Then it's a chance worth taking." I say as I smile with tears in my eyes. "And she died in a fight that she knew she couldn't win. And Penny was Killed. Just to make a statement."

"I'm.....Sorry." Oscar says as he looks away.

"Don't be. The truth is I am scared Oscar. I am so scared........ Has Ozpin told you anything about me?" I ask as I turn around to look out side.

"He said something about you being important to him, but he never elaborated. And I never wanted to push." Oscar says looking at me as I bite my lip. Should I tell him. Well, he's gonna find out sooner or later. I mean he is with my father. Eww. 

"Well................. I'm his daughter." I say looking away.

"What!?" He asks as he walks up to me.

"Yeah. And I feel like most of this is my fault. But I also know It's not. I know my mother will stop at nothing until she gets what she wants. And she wants the Relics and Maidens." I say looking outside.

"Why does she want you?" Oscar asks as he comes up next to me. "Jaune told me about the attack by that scorpion guy. And how he wanted to take Ruby as well as you." 

"To tell the truth I have no idea. But I know whatever it is. It can't be good." I say as I hug Oscar. "It's okay to be scared. But The fear that you have it will go away in time. And in time we will win and hopefully defeat my mother." I feel Oscar's arms wrap around me. "Do you mind keeping this a secret no one knows about this except Qrow."

"They don't know?" Oscar asks as we pull away from the hug.

"I haven't gotten around to telling them. But I will sometime when I'm ready." I say as we look at each other.

"Your secrets safe with me." Oscar says with a smile.

"Thank you farm boy." I say as I kiss his cheek. Oscar's cheeks become Rosie red as he looks away.  "Now let's go get some food before Nora eats it all." Oscar laughs as I start to walk upstairs.

Don't worry Pyrrha. Penny. I will make sure your death wasn't in vain.
