Bumping into Morax while she was on her way to Wangshu Inn was a surprise. The shock was due to the fact that they rarely met face to face, since they were both busy. Their prime way of communication was through letters. They often shared their thoughts on paper, so feeling his comfort in person was an overwhelming experience. Though, she failed to recognise him at first; she wasn't to blame, though. Morax didn't have a set appearance after all. It was almost always a blur. Maybe her memory was acting up.

"Morax," she bowed, her knee meeting the soft grass beneath her. Her hair framed her face, falling over her shoulder. She held herself back from standing up and hugging him, unsure if he would be willing to embrace her.

"Rise, child," he responded. She stood and observed him. His hands were clasped behind his back, his attire formal. He used to wear clothes like that when she was a child. She could remember that much.

There was a moment of silence before he seemed to realise something. "Were you heading somewhere?" He asked, his gaze gentle, like a father.

(Y/N) nodded. "I was. Nothing special though. I'm doing the same thing I do every day."

"I see," he stepped aside. "May I accompany you? I wouldn't want to interrupt your journey." She would never have the heart to reject him, so her head nod was immediate. His company was precious, especially since it had been ages since she had last been in his presence.

They walked side by side. His steps were long, thanks to his height, almost gliding across the path. She did her best to keep up.

"How is Xiao?" He asked. She considered his question, thinking back to when she met him yesterday morning. He seemed content. Perhaps even a bit happy, since he had been approaching her more. Maybe he had just come to like her more.

"Alright," she said. "He's probably going to be at Wangshu Inn. You can ask him there. He'd be delighted to see you."

Morax shook his head, chuckling softly. "No, no, that is unnecessary." Silence fell over them again, a soft blanket cascading over their shoulders.

She decided to break the silence with a question that was weighing on her mind. "Is there something you want to discuss with me?" (Y/N) asked, the curiosity getting the better of her. She knew that he wouldn't bring the issue up unless she did. After all, Morax was a patient and polite being.

He hummed slightly, his golden gaze observing the plains. "I have a favor to ask of you, child."

Her heart skipped a beat. The Geo Archon had a favour to ask of her. Of her. She felt privileged.
