(Y/N) was an Adeptus. Now that there was peace, she spent her time tending to requests sent from the people of Liyue. Her life was simple now: no more wars, no more fighting, no losses.
And things could almost be considered boring, until one day she...

The dinner was settled a few days later, since Childe was preparing to make his way to Inazuma. She didn't ask why, since she was a bit conflicted on how to feel about him leaving for a while again.
"Back in here, but this time, you actually want to eat with me," Childe commented, pulling out a chair for her from underneath the table. She sat down. They were eating at the Liuli Pavilion once more, but unlike last time, the table was only for the two of them. The idea of being in a room with only him had a strange effect on her, even if the situation was similar to last time.
"Not really," she responded. "I'm here because you owe me."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," he suggested, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly, even if he wished she would just agree that she wanted to be there with him.
He didn't put forth any budget, so she ordered as much as her rumbling stomach asked her to - and a variety of sorts. She enjoyed the slight surprised look on his face, but it quickly morphed into a smile. "Are you that hungry?"
"Perhaps I am," she said, watching the waitress leave with their order. "Or perhaps it's what I think I need to order so your debt to me is fully paid." It was truly the former, but the latter made sense.
Childe merely smiled at that, his chin settling down onto his palm, elbow propped up onto the table. His blue eyes observed her closely, from her hair to her lips, from her jaw to her eyes. She gave him a weird look. "What?"
"You're beautiful," he said.
(Y/N) stared at him. Was he being serious? Well, yes he was. She could notice the firm look in his eyes, how his smile was soft and admiring, how his gaze had similar attributes to that. He was admiring her.
She didn't respond to the compliment. "Teucer told me you write home about me."
He cleared his throat, surprised by the sudden topic change. He chuckled, the side of his hand rubbing against his nose in an attempt to hide the slight red streaking his cheeks. "I, uh, yeah. I tell them about everything I do. And the people I meet."
"What did you tell them?" She asked, curious. "That, what, I beat you in battle? I assume not."
"No," he said. "I told them about how fascinating you are."
She cringed. What was he doing? "I see. Thanks, I guess?"
"I'd tell them more about you," he said, hand reaching out to pour himself a glass of wine. "But I only had one paper to send. I don't think they'd have time for some essay."
This was his pathetic attempt to flirt? (Y/N) was unsure what was going on, but nodded. "Okay."
"You really should take up Teucer's offer," he added. "The one to visit us back in Snezhnaya. It would be a good vacation, and my family would love to give you a place to stay for a bit. We'd go fishing, hunt in the woods, spar a few more times, maybe even play in the snow with the children."
