"How far up do—" he took a deep, length inhale, "do you live?" He finished his question, a bit breathless from the hike up. The mountain she lived on was a tall one, and the trail going up was a tiring one. She was used to it, so she merely snickered at his inability to travel upwards for too long. He shot her a look, but he wasn't angry.

"I live at the top," she said, looking up. He followed her gaze, blue eyes tracing the rocky sides and the vines hanging off from the top, the grass squishing under the flat of his shoes. The crickets chirped from the bushes, alerting the nature around them of the night falling upon them. He was about to ask her why her abode was built on a mountain, but he held himself back at the realisation that the woman in front of him loved nature. After all, he did find her laying down in a patch of grass, eyes closed.

He smiled softly, a light blush spreading across his cheeks as he watched the back of her head. God.

By the time they reached the top, the illuminating light from the moon was the only source of light. His gaze fell upon a humble, cute house. It looked cozy, with the walls being made of wood and various mini flower beds under the small windows. In front of her house was some unusual blue floating thing, which he noticed radiated a dim sort of light.

"What's that?" He asked, reaching over to touch it.

She swatted his hand away. "I'm not sure. Avoid touching it. It's been there since I moved here, and I don't want to risk it being dangerous," she said.

Childe nodded. He followed her to the front door. She opened it, turning on the lights. He blinked, adjusting to the view of a hallway. He rubbed his boots against the doormat while she took off her shoes, then strolled down the corridor. He peeked his head through one of the doors, which lead into a kitchen and living room.

"The couch is all yours," she told him. "So is the kitchen. Find something to eat."

He heard a little 'meow', which perked up his attention. He looked to the side and saw a ginger cat rubbing itself against (Y/N)'s leg. It just appeared out of nowhere. It must have heard her voice and came for food, or to acknowledge her presence.

"Cutie," the Adeptus said in a baby voice, which surprised him. He kind of wanted her to speak to him like that.

She picked her up. "Mimi," she introduced the cat. "That's her name."

Childe leaned forward, taking off his gloves and letting the cat sniff his fingers, before petting her head. "Cute," he commented, but his eyes were on her.

"Yep," she agreed, not picking up on anything (or deliberately ignoring it, who knows?) and putting the cat back down. He sat down onto the couch as (Y/N) walked into the kitchen and took out Mimi's bowl. The cat meowed and purred loudly, sniffing the empty bowl. Her ears perked into her direction when she took out the bag of cat food, her volume increasing before the food was finally poured into her plate.
