(Y/N) was an Adeptus. Now that there was peace, she spent her time tending to requests sent from the people of Liyue. Her life was simple now: no more wars, no more fighting, no losses.
And things could almost be considered boring, until one day she...

A/N: Hello everyone! I wanted to pop in before this chapter started to mention that this is how I interpret the canonical timeline for when Childe's story quest occurs. It would happen after the battle at the Golden House, after he left and returned to Liyue for his rematch with (Y/N) and to work with new recruits. Also, I got Nahida! Kuki as well. I've built them both and am working on Cheveruse 😍😍 How has genshin been going on for all of you?
A young boy? A few passer-by's reported to her that there seemed to be a lost boy at the dock. (Y/N) presumed his parents accidentally left him behind; boats from other nations were usually crowded, unless you managed to catch a private one or a ride on the Crux. They might have left him behind unintentionally. Still, she felt obliged to make sure he was safe until he was retrieved by his guardian.
She made her way to the harbour, looking out for a short little boy who was alone. Sighing, she looked behind a few crates, asked a few locals, before finally getting information that a young boy was going around asking merchants about his brother.
So his brother had accompanied him on the ride, huh? He must be the adult. What a silly man, really, when his one job was to take care of his younger brother and he waltzed off without him.
And there he was. She walked over to him, smiling at the confused lady behind the desk.
"—he's the world's best toy maker!" The young boy was exclaiming, throwing his hands up while describing his brother.
"Very interesting," she commented, turning the young boy to look at him. He stared up at her with wide eyes.
"Pretty girl, do you know who my brother is?" He asked, a bit fazed. He seemed like a cute boy.
"I'm not sure," she said gently, crouching to be at eye-level with him. "You said he was a toy-maker? What's his name?"
"Ajax!" He replied. "He leaves home a lot to make toys for children. He promised he'd get me a Mr. Cyclops! He makes them all the time for other kids."
She chuckled, placing a hand on his head, ruffling his hair. "I'm not sure I know anyone like that. How does he look like?"
He thought about it, scratching his chin like he had come straight out of an animated show. "He's really tall! And he's always smiling and being nice to me. His eyes are the same as mine!" He pulled his eye open further with his fingers.
"I see," she said, lowering his hand from his face. He wasn't much help. There were a lot of blue-eyed men in Liyue. And tall is a subjective word. This boy was short himself, so he'd consider someone a bit taller than him as tall. She sighed. "I'll help you find him, okay?"
