I watched him search the dorm for monsters. Under our beds, in the bathroom, in the cabinets and fridge. "I don't see any." he answered, sitting back next to me. I stared at the floor. "How about you get some sleep. You probably need it." Jaxx suggested. "But what if something's here-" I started. "I'll keep you safe. I promise. I'm not going to leave you." His words were comforting in a way. I lay down. "What time is it?" I asked. He looked at the clock. As he did, I saw a worried expression on his face. "6:30..." He muttered. My heart sank as I realized we had a math test tomorrow. Before I had that nightmare, I couldn't even sleep. I was still tired. And now I only had 30 minutes before- "How about you try getting some sleep, and if you're still tired when your alarm goes off, we'll take the day off." I felt a little bit better. "We? You shouldn't have to miss school because of me-" I started. "Do you ever stop insulting yourself?" He interrupted. "Not really." I answered. "Well you should stop." He replied, lying down.
Thirty minutes later, someone gently shook me awake. I turned around exhausted. "Do you think you can go to school today?" He asked. I nodded tiredly. It felt like I got less than 10 minutes of sleep, but I didn't want him to miss school because of me. It was my fault anyway. Jaxx looked at me skeptically. "Are you sure? You have black circles under your eyes." He mentioned. "Yeah it's fine..." I muttered getting out of bed. I dragged my feet to the fridge. I would limp, my sore left leg dying every second I walked, but I didn't want Jaxx to know I was tired. And in pain. So much pain. I pulled out a Pentagram-Tart (Demon Realm's Pop Tarts), and sat down at the counter. After I ate, I shoved all of my text books into my bag. That's when I saw it. My heart sank. The homework I forgot about. The homework worth 30 points. Even worse, it was for math. The class I had an F- in. "Is something wrong?" Jaxx asked. "No." I answered quickly, shoving the crumbled paper in my backpack. I then followed Jaxx to witchcraft class dread.
After Witchcraft and English class, I went into math class with shame. As the bell rang, Ms. Windslow already told everyone to get out our homework. The one sheet I missed. I felt Jaxx staring at me from across the room. I looked at him and saw my suspicions were true. "You okay?" He whispered. I looked at my empty paper with despair. Not a bit... I thought. Satan damn. He could read minds. How could I be so stupid? I watched as Jaxx asked the teacher something, then grabbed my hand and dragged me out of class into the hallway. "Go back to the dorm and get some rest." He commanded. "I'm fine. I don't even know what you're talking about-" I started. "I saw you fall asleep in English class." He interrupted. "Well I was just bored." I countered. "I know it's your favorite class." Jaxx said. Damn.... "Exactly. Now, I'm going to be here for the rest of class, get all of our homework from our other classes, and come to the dorm, and when you get there in 10 minutes, you're going to get some sleep. Understood?" He asked. I nodded. "Good. Now go get your stuff."
I heard the door open and sat up to see Jaxx. "Feel better?" I nodded, going to my desk to figure out my math.
Find A
Okay, not bad. Didn't sound too difficult-
Find the square root of B
Where the hell was B...? I thought. I looked at the question again, but it only made it more difficult, seeing that I would have to find the square root of 985,328,895 without a calculator. I would use one, but I lost mine. Great... I looked at Jaxx hoping he would already be looking at me, but he was hunched over at his desk doing science worksheets. It's not like I was going to ask him for help. Jaxx was already missing half of his day because I was a tired wuss. I sighed. I would just have to figure it out on my own.

FantasyBefore you read the description of my book, I want to give a few quick disclaimers. The first one is that most of the chapters aren't very long, so the 60 chapters isn't as intimidating to read as it may seem. Second, my story does include the follo...
