That night, I felt especially scared to go to bed. Every time I had a nightmare lately, he would sleep near me, at the least. It was almost predictable I would have a scary dream at the least without him. I began to walk over to his bed. I didn't have a nightmare, but I didn't want to have one either. Hesitantly, I tapped his shoulder. He sat up. "What?" Jaxx asked, glaring at me as I interrupted his sleep.

"C-Can I uhm...Can I sleep with you...?" I asked nervously. His face softened. "Sure." He replied. I lay down next to him. I don't know why, but for some reason, I always felt more safe sleeping next to such a powerful demon. Even though he was an asshole sometimes he could still protect me if he wanted to. His bed felt more comfortable anyway now that I was on it. "Hayden?" Someone called. I opened my eyes, and got up to look at him. "Why do you like sleeping with me?" He questioned. My heart sank. I paused for a second. I knew why, I just didn't want to tell him. But I gave in within seconds. "It just feels safer." I muttered. "Is that why you're blushing?" He asked smugly. "No..." I answered. "Then why?" I looked down to avoid making eye contact with him. "I-I just-I don't know..." I stammered. I heard him laugh a little. "Cute." He commented. I sat up and turned to glare at him, but he was already fake sleeping. I sighed in frustration, laying down as well. Until then I thought he would care enough to keep his thoughts about me to himself. Even though I didn't... Besides one. I was beginning to like him. And not in a platonic way.

At lunch, I wenr to my usual table with all my friends. The moldy crumbled watt of trash that nobody wanted to pick up, The weird stain on the floor next to my chair, the window, and Janitor Linda. She didn't like me very much though. When I would try to wave at her in hopes I could have at least one demon friend, she would always give me the middle finger. As I was eating, I heard someone stomp behind me. Before I could react, the person yanked me off of my seat, and pinned me onto my table by my shirt. It was the prick Erebus. "Give me your money." He growled. "You said I was poor a few days ago-" I started, taking his grimey sharp hands off of my shirt. He punched me so hard I fell onto the cold tile floor. The lunchroom went dead silent. As he was about to kick me, I heard the distant sound of someone else coming. It was probably Raven so they could both jump me- "LEAVE HIM ALONE!!" A familiar deep voice commanded. It was the spawn of Satan himself. He stood between Erebus and I. "He's my victim." Jaxx claimed. "You think I give a shit?" Prick snarled. "You will when I kick your ass." Satan Jr. Threatened. Before the dumb ass could respond, Jaxx kicked him to the ground effortlessly. I would have gotten up by now, but I had just officially given up on life and demanity when Jaxx called me his victim, as if he owned me or something.

Erebus left for the nurse in shame after getting hit. My savior (Sarcasm) turned around, helping me up. "You okay?" He asked in a concerned tone. As if he really cared. He was probably just trying to find an excuse to punch Erebus. "Hell no. I'm even better. I just got my ass kicked by some obnoxious man whore for not wanting to get robbed in front of 300 people, and now I have a migraine and trauma. But you know what's even better? Now I'm your property." (Sarcasm) I said flatly. "You could at least say thank you." Jaxx commented. "Thanks for treating me like a helpless child." (More sarcasm) I responded. "For saving you." He corrected. The handsome shit sack had to be kidding. "Oh so sorry your highness, thank you for saving me from the big bad man. It's not like I could save myself because I'm so helpless and tiny." (Even more sarcasm) I replied. "That's more like it-" He started. "The fact you thought I was serious is even more pathetic than your over-priced outfit and ego." I stated. He paused, deciding how to take my 'attitude'. "I didn't deserve that." Jaxx finally commented. "And I didn't deserve a half assed apology after you clawed my arm and abandoned me in the hallway like a piece of shit that you have the same attitude as." I asserted. He glared at me. "Shouldn't you be fucking off by now?" I asked. He walked away. "EXACTALLY!!" I yelled over the lunch room.

I sat back down at my table, ready to finally finish my pickle and cheese sandwich as my stomach growled. Since some assholes interrupted me. "Ew... Are those pickles?" Someone jested. I looked up and saw Jaxx once again. "Yeah." I answered. He sat down across from me. "Don't you have any friends to sit with?" I looked at all the empty chairs around me. "I don't have friends. I have dignity." I acknowledged. Surprisingly, Jaxx sat across from me. "Well you do now." He declared. "If we were friends wouldn't you apologize for traumatizing me?" I asked. I watched him look around for people that may overhear our conversation. "Fine. I'm sorry." He muttered. "For?" Jaxx exaggeratingly sighed. "For hurting you..." He apologized. "And?" The fact that I had to structure his apology for me was sad. "And?" He retorted. "And not apologizing when you should have." I demanded. "I'm sorry for not apologizing earlier..." He muttered. "Good." I said. "Is there anything you want to say to me?" Jaxx inquired. "No." I responded. The rest of our lunch was silent.
