I rolled my eyes. "Really? This was the best you could do to kill me? Not impressed." I commented. It got slightly easier to breath as I distracted him. "Excuse me?" He pardoned. "Come on. You have all of these super powers and this is what you came up with to kill someone you've hated for so long? Aren't you ashamed? You're killing a child Lucifer. The least you could do is use some of that ego you have and put in some passion." I insulted. "Well I have plenty of powers that you can't even think of-" He started. "Then tell me about them." I coaxed. I got more room to breath as he began listing all of his powers. I could breathe as much as I normally could. Curiously, I looked behind me to see what Jaxx was doing the whole time as I was dying. He wasn't there. I looked around the room, only to see he had vanished. I hoped he was out doing something to end my suffering. I could only take so much of his dads endless tangion of his ego before I would die of boredom instead of his strangling.
I would have to figure something out on my own. Wouldn't be the first time someone threw me under the bus. I already distracted him, now I just needed to find a way out.
By every power he listed, the grip on my throat slowly loosened. I didn't even have to come up with a plan. I just had to wait. Eventually, he completely let me go and never noticed as he blabbered on. All I had to do was quietly slip past him and I was out. The first thing I did was look for Jaxx. I saw him by the school's front doors. When he saw me, he jumped in my arms crying. "Are you okay?" He asked frantically. I nodded. He hugged me again. I began to feel a little guilty. I originally planned to go back to the dorm, and ignore him for the rest of the night, but I felt bad as his tears of guilt stained my shoulders. "I'm so sorry..." Jaxx said quietly. "You're okay...How about we just go back to our dorm?" I suggested.
I layed in bed, staring at the ceiling as I procrastinated sleeping. Jaxx said I should try getting some rest before it was dark out and I might now have nightmares. I was still scared I would. I took a peak at what Jaxx was doing. Just practicing witchcraft. I turned over to face the wall, pulling the blankets over my head frustratingly tired. No. There was no way I was going to sleep. Not even if Jaxx told me to- "Go to sleep Hayden." He commanded. I sat up, taking off my blanket. "I can't." I replied. "Because you're procrastinating." He argued. I glared at him. "I feel like sometimes you forget I can read your mind anytime I want to." Jaxx commented. "Wouldn't you know?" I snapped. He finally turned his chair around. "Get your sleep grump."
As soon as I opened my eyes I was falling. I took in my surroundings as I panicked. I was only in a void. Papers flew around me. I caught one and saw one of my worst fears. There was an F on my final exam. I quickly threw it. Curiously, I looked down. I wish I never did. There, at the bottom, was only a large, open mouth with sharp teeth. I came to the horrible realization that I was getting closer and closer to my death. I dumbly tried to fly up to distance myself from it but I only continued falling. Eventually, I came to my doom as my body split in half.
As soon as I opened my eyes I didn't even have the chance to have one of my usual miserable panic attacks. Jaxx was already sitting next to me rubbing my back. "Get some sleep?" He asked. My heart slowed as I felt weirdly energized... "Yeah..." I muttered. "Did you have any nightmares?" He interrogated. I nodded. "Well while you were sleeping, I went to the nurse and I think I found something that could help you with those nightmares." He replied. "Really?" I asked, sitting up. "Yeah. I was talking to Violet and she said she might have a potion that might work; As long as you're not allergic to.." Jaxx got off of the bed and grabbed a blue potion off of the island and read the back. "Spider legs, Shark blood, Sugar, flour, Mushrooms, and Gargoyle eyes..." He listed. "I don't think so." I replied.
