Sun/Moon Perspective
Moon watched as Y/N exited the daycare. What time was it? His internal clock said it was already 11:48. Might as well start patrols early.
'I can't believe they're back! Aren't you excited Moon?'
'Yes, Sun. It's been a while.'
'She was always your favorite!'
'Excuse me?'
'She used to tell me how you'd always pay more attention to her than the other children!'
'She lied. I'd pay attention to them all equally.'
'Yeah, sure! Plus, she wasn't scared of you when the others were! She may not have known about the vi—'
'That's enough:'
'Moon... you seem a bit different.'
'Not right now Sun. Be quiet so I can finish my patrol.'
'Alright...'
By the time it was getting close to 4, Moon started heading back to the daycare to check on everything there. That's when he saw the empty ball pit. Shit. He saw a worker and walked over to him, "Sir, what happened here?"
The man looked up at him, "The ball pit balls have to be cleaned and replaced weekly. You know that, Moondrop." Moon nodded, "I- I think a child left something in the ball pit, is there any way I could look for it?"
"You should've told me earlier, I could have checked. It's too late now though." Shit. "A-Alright then..." The man tapped him, "You alright? I don't think you were programmed to stutter. Maybe a glitch or some—" "I'm fine." The man nodded, "Alright, just checking."
Moon walked away. What was he going to do now? They can't do naptime without it. If something were to happen... the smallest thing could trigger it. He can't let naptime happen and for history to repeat. No, he couldn't. Shit...
To be continued in Chapter 30
