I landed into a ball pit and the bottom. I easily stood up, it wasn't that deep. I looked around the place and it felt so familiar. Through the ball pit balls, I walked until I made it to the edge where I climbed out of the ball pit.
Is this some place for kids? I see a jungle gym and— Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. Whoever it was, turned me around to face them. Now I remember.
"Hello, Hello! Are you a parent, here to pick up a child? My facial scanners don't recognize— Wait a moment! I seem to have had an error. My scanners think you are a child! Silly me. May I ask who you are?" The large figure towered over me but I didn't feel scared or threatened.
I hugged his waist. Sundrop froze, "Oh uh, excuse me, you haven't answered my question!" I let go and looked up at him again, "I ain't a parent. That's for sure." Sun bent down to me and I chuckled.
"Your voice. My scanners are telling me that it's someone I knew long ago. A child. Could you by any chance be related to them?" I laughed more at that, "Sunny..." Sundrop stood up quickly and stared at me. "It's me!" I yelled to him.
Sun seemed to study me, "Y/N...? Is that you...?" I hugged him again and this time, he hugged me back. He picked me up and spun me around, just like I remembered. "What are you doing here Sunshine?"
He put me back down and I laughed, "Isn't that an old nickname? I bet you call every kid that." Sundrop shook his head, "I've never called anyone Sunshine before. Except for you of course."
"Oh..." The amount of silence was too much. I got to the point, "Anyways, I'm here to try to get a job. I heard that they're hiring security guards and stuff like—" Sundrop smiled brightly, "Oh, Oh! You should definitely apply to work in the daycare! We haven't had a worker here in so long, you'd be perfect!"
I smiled nervously, "I don't know if I'd be the best here..." Sundrop shook his head, "No no! You'd be amazing! I could even show you where to apply after the kids have left!" I nodded slowly, considering it. "You know what... Sure! I'll apply for the job!"
Sundrop was basically jumping up and down with excitement. I think he still looks at me like a child... I hope that if I get the job, it'll change. "I'll just wait in the parent pickup until all the children get picked up." Sun nodded to me and went to help the other kids.
You wouldn't believe how many parents walked over to me and asked me about picking up their children. "Sorry, I'm not an employee currently!" I told one lady who was here to pick up a kid named Dylan.
Luckily for me, she was the last person to pick up their child. Sundrop walked over to me and waved goodbye to the child. "Come, come! I'll show you where to go!" We both headed to the daycare exit but Sun stopped.
"Sunny, you alright?" I asked him. Sundrop nodded nervously, "Yeah... I just don't leave the daycare very often unless for repairs or check ups..." I walked over to him and grabbed his hand. "Come on! You'll be okay!"
Sun nodded slowly, "Yeah... Yeah! I got this!" Me and him both walked out of the daycare. It was a minute before we found the place for me to apply for the job.
I walked up to a woman who seemed to be working there. "Excuse me, how would I be able to get a job in the daycare?" The woman looked up and smiled, "Of course! What's your name? I'll give you the papers right now!" I nodded, "Oh, thank you! My name is Y/N"
The woman nodded and grabbed the papers and handed them to me. "Here you go, Miss Y/N." She handed me a pen as well. I found somewhere to sit and I started to look through the contract. I probably should have looked through again, but of course, I just wanted the job so I lazily scanned through.
