Chapter 34 - Mess up II

I'm sorry I really am 😭

   Finally. The last child left. Sundrop was still waving to the last child as Y/N started walking to the daycare exit. "Sunshine, where are you going?" Sundrop asked her.

Sun watched as she turned nervously and chuckled. "I'm using one of those 4 days to get my stuff from home to bring here." She turned back towards the exit.

'Let me talk to her... Please...'

Sundrop nodded, "Oh well, Moon wants to talk to you..." She walked out and yelled back to Sun, waving, "Bye Sunny!" Did she not hear him?

'Did she just... ignore you...?'

Sundrop chuckled and spoke out loud to Moon. "I doubt that she was purposely ignoring me! I think she just didn't hear me!"

'We both know she heard you. It was obvious and even so, you're so loud...'

Despite my rude comment, Sun still smiled, "Oh don't be like that Moony!"

'Not you too with that stupid nickname...'

That made Sundrop pout, "I think it's cute! Sunny and Moony as she calls us!"

'It's stupid.'

Sun nervously fidgeted with his fingers. "M-Moon... are you sure you're feeling—"

'I'm fine.'

For your sake... for our sake... I'm fine.

Time skip

Sundrop was cleaning a few messes when he saw Y/N through one of the daycare windows, about to grab her key card to get in.

'Turn off the lights.'

Sun was a bit confused why, "Right now?"

'Let me talk to her.'

Sundrop nodded nervously, "I-If you say so..." He walked over to the lights and turned them off.

It felt nice to be back out but I had someone I needed to talk with. I hooked the chord from the ceiling into my back and lifted into the air, watching as Y/N walked in.

She had pulled out her phone and turned on the flashlight. I landed on the floor behind her as she was about to turn the lights back on. "Don't."

I found it funny how she jumped as she turned around. "Moony! You scared me!" That nickname, 'Moony'.

"Why did you leave?" I didn't originally intend to sound so cold but it's what my voice box decided to do so I went with it. Y/N started on her excuse "I had to get some stuff from home. It's not like it took that lo—"

I had cut her off and grabbed her wrist. "You ignored Sun and left. You ignored ME." I only then realized how tightly I had grabbed her because she started to try to pull her arm away. I would've loosened my grip but it would've let her get away so I went for a different approach.

I chuckled, "That won't work, Starlight." She seemed a bit more scared now and had said something but I was too caught up in my own angry thoughts to notice.

"You don't leave. You never leave. Never again." I might have been overreacting in the moment but I was angry. Y/N only nodded her head. What? She can't even speak to me?!

That's when my vision started going black. No no no... it's happening again... 'MOON! A—A—ARE YOU OK—A—AY?! WHY IS EVERYTHING B—BLA—CK?!' Sun's voice filled our head.

The next thing I knew, I was still holding her arm but it felt tighter to the point it felt like... I released her arm and could feel as my claws left the new wound I created.

"S-Starlight... I..." was all I could muster out. I watched as her sleeve turned red with blood. What have I done...? Yet after all that was happening, Y/N looked... brave...? It was almost the same look of no tears and no fears that she had shown me the first time I met her. But this time she didn't look as happy.

"Let me know when you're ready to talk, Moondrop." Her words stung. I fucked up so badly... She pushed past me and I didn't dare turn to her or say a word. I was frozen there.

It took me a moment to even realize that Sun was yelling at me. 'MOON! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?! WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!'

I could only respond with three small words.

"I don't know..."
