"Shit." Another day goes by. Same as everyday except, this time, it was a bit different. I just moved and I need to find a new job already. Where am I supposed to find a job here?! I only lived here for a year total, but that was years ago and I don't remember a lot.
I walked the streets, searching for somewhere I could find a job at. Even if it's not permanent, that's okay, just need something to get me through these first few months living here.
That's where it hit me. Literally. Someone was handing out flyers and it was a pretty windy day. A flier went loose from their hand and blew off, hitting me in the face. It fell to the floor and I picked it up.
It was a flier saying "Help Wanted. Employees needed in the Pizza Plex! Will you help out? We need all that we can find. From security guards to daycare attendants!" I stopped reading after it said "Help Wanted".
I ran over to the guy who was desperately trying to hand out flyers that no one was taking. "Where do I go to get this job?!" I pushed the flier back into his hand. The guys looked up and pointed down the street, "Just go to the Pizza Plex down the street. It's big and easy to find!"
I thanked the guy and started heading that direction. He said that it was a Pizza Plex. Ah, now I remember. I used to go there all the time. I only actually remember being dropped off there and spending the day there but I forgot what I would do.
Maybe it'll come back to me when I get there. I turned the corner and there it was. It really was big and easy to find. I ran to the entrance and walked inside. There were robots at the entrance and I walked up to one of them.
"Excuse me, how would I be able to apply for the—" The robot grabbed my arm before I could finish and stamped my wrist. "Oh uh—" I was pushed inside by a bunch of people. Guess I'll have to find an actual human being myself.
I looked around the Pizza Plex mindlessly and stupidly, not reading any of the signs or anything before walking into places. Eventually I found myself in a room where a slide had caught my eye. That sign, I did read. "Slide Into Fun"
That sign felt familiar. I felt as though I had to go down the slide. I slowly approached it and sat down with my legs in the tube. Deep breath, I may not know where this leads because I might just be stupid, but I'll go down. I gave myself a small push and down I went. Sliding into fun.
