Chapter 44 - I wasn't eavesdropping

   I was talking to Moon about how after the daycare closes, we could put time into helping him. "Do you think we should tell Sunny? He would love to help!"

Moon changed from happy to upset in an instant. "No..." I sighed in frustration, "Moony, you can't keep him in the dark forever!" He looked away.

"If we tell him, he'll freak out. He'll think that he's going to lose me again, or worse, we'd get decommissioned."

I stayed silent after that. It was basically a choice between leaving him in the dark and not knowing at all, or him always being worried about it and possibly start going crazy about it.

"Alright... We won't tell him..." I paused. "Not yet at least... we have to tell him eventually." Moon nodded slowly. We continued to talk for a long time.

I yawned and Moon sighed, "You should get some sleep. I could always give you a Moondrop to help you sleep..." I smiled, "Thanks but I should be..." I yawned again. "...fine..."

He patted next to him on his bed. "What?" I asked. He patted again. "What are you doing?" Moon rolled his eyes, "You really must be tired. Sit."

I must have really been tired because I actually didn't think about it and sat down. He pulled me close to him and I couldn't help but blush a bit. After a few minutes I had fallen asleep.

My eyes opened slightly to the sound of talking. I realized it was Moon and I shut my eyes again. I swear I wasn't trying to eavesdrop! I was trying to go back to sleep... but I could still hear the entire conversation...

"Sundrop, Stop it." I could hear Moon. It was harder to eavesdrop since I couldn't hear Sun... I mean- uh... fine, I was eavesdropping. "No I do not!"

He suddenly got quieter. "I hate that we can do that..." after a moment later he chuckled, "like you haven't thought about shit like that."

I could feel him wince in pain, "No... I said stuff... It's impossible for us to cuss... remember...?" He was silent for a minute. "Whatever... Just... Don't bring any of that stuff up around her..."

I knew when Sun was talking because Moon would go quiet. Or at least I think so. "Because you idiot, she would think that it's weird for us to have that knowledge. That's if she doesn't already think it's weird for us to think of her like that."

After what seemed like the conversation was over, Moon pulled me closer to him. "Do me a favor... Don't tell her." Tell me what? "I don't care if you tell her all about your little emotions... just leave me out of it."

Moon was silent for a few seconds again. "I have reasons, Sun. You'll figure out those reasons at some point but for now, leave it be... please..." That's the first time is a long time that I've heard him say 'please'.

The conversation must have been done by now since it was already 5 minutes since Moon had spoken. It didn't take long at all until I fell back asleep.
