The next couple of days fly by. We take Dodger on walks around the trails, I snap a few pictures, one of the sunset, as well as some selfies of Chris and me. One I most love is currently the new wallpaper on my phone. It's nice just to relax, and find out more about him behind closed doors. He's a home it's for sure - he loves being near his family, especially as he now states he's becoming an "old man".
"I don't care, you can be my 'old man'" I say as we stroll along with Dodger bounding in front.
"I quite like the idea of that, Wilde". He smirks.
There's an age gap between us of around ten years, but I'm not bothered. I know others will be but I've never cared for anyone's opinions - not even my own family.
I squint against the sun that's beating down on us. I left my damn sunglasses back at the house and just braved it. Now I'm wishing I went back for them. Chris can see I'm getting blinded and now takes off his hat, putting it on my head. "There you go - actually that looks pretty hot..." he says, studying the Red Sox hat that's now on my head and biting his lip with a nod. "Sorry..." he then apologised but pretty much staring.
I shrug. "You sure you don't want it on? Now you're exposed".
He snorts. "Been exposed in worse ways, but of sun doesn't matter to me. Keep it - looks ten times better on you anyway". Taking the sunglasses from where they've been hung from the collar of his T-shirt, he puts them on.
"Ok I won't lie - you wearing those aviators turns me on big time".
Now he looks a little smug. "Oh really?"
"That and the glasses in general..."
You sound like a twat, Harper - shut it down!
"Or, well, just you. You turn me on..." I trail off and curse myself in my head that once again my mouth got away with me. And not in the way I'd have liked it to.
He keeps his arm around me as we walk on, then leaning in. "Well when we get back, how about we finish what you started in the shower this morning?"
Oh yes. I forgot he said he was going to get me back for what I did. I've been on my knees more for this man in the last 48 hours than I have during the dance routines for Taylor. We haven't really discussed about any official as such. But soon I get the feeling that we probably will be.
"Now that sounds like a nice afternoon". I grin and he pulls me closer as we circle back to the house. Chris now surprised that I've never once watched any Charlie Brown films. "I know who Snoopy is - but I've never seen the films".
"Well that's gonna change". He insists. "Are you gonna be in the country for Halloween?"
"Yep, I'm pretty much free until November". I nod.
He glances to me. "Would you wanna spend it with me? Halloween that is...usually there's a family party and stuff, but this year I feel like I kinda wanna spend it together".
I smile at this. "You really think I'd say no?"
Chris shrugs. "I dunno...I guess we kinda need to talk about things, us in general and whether you'd wanna take it further?" I can sense he's anxious about bringing it up, considering physically we've only just met. But we've been talking for the last few months so I guess it does count.
"If I didn't want to? Then I wouldn't still be here". I stop and then drape my arms around his neck, kissing him gently.
Ok, I think I can officially say that I'm falling hard, not that I wasn't already, but it's been quicker than even I've expected. I'm smitten - and I'd like to hope that he is too. Just the way he looks at me is enough to make me melt.
"Well I think there's my answer, can I have you Harps?" He asks as he pulls away momentarily from our kiss to ask me.
I grin and place one more light peck on his lips, giddy that this is actually happening. "You've got me".
