Bellas pov
The snow had slowly began to melt but the air was still cold as we descended towards the lake. I don't know whether it because of the alcohol or Mattheo's eyes burning holes tough my back but the cold wasn't bothering me, or at lest not yet.
The lights were off in Hagrid's hut meaning he was probably with the other teachers.. or somewhere in the forest with his animals. Either way he way far enough away that we wouldn't get caught after curfew, not that I think they would bother with it during holidays either way.
The lights from the castle were left behind and the only thing guiding us along the path was the dim light of the moon. Pansy nearly feel to her face a few times but luckily Draco was having her in a firm grip and never let her hit the ground. Enzo was quite drunk meaning he babbled on and on about the most random things and it was hard not to laugh at his stupidity as he wholeheartedly tried to convince me of the most outrages things.
"Oh and did you know that the squid in the black lake is the product of a defective poison" Enzo continued.
"Oh really?" I learned that the best thing right know was just to go along with his wild ideas and then tease him for them tomorrow.
"Yeah, it was as small as my fist when some students had the task to make a potion that would change it's color, I think they were trying to turn it yellow if I remember correctly, but anyway the potion was made wrong and instead the squid grew and eventually busted out the castle. They had to rebuild the entire area that had collapsed and deciding the squid was harmless they decided to let it live in the lake" he told the story so passionately that if I would of had a few more drinks I actually would have believed him.
As we closed in on the lake Draco turned away from the path that lead to the pier and the "beach" area and instead lead us down a more wooded path. Eventually the trees eased up and we emerged on a gras filed that stretched along the lake. Rocks were the only thing separating the water from submerging the gras and looking closely a few rocks were heading out in to the water creating a pier of it's own.
There were a fire pit with a few benches surrounding it and it seemed as if the others had been here before because they all comfortably approached it and sat down. I on the other hand was stuck in place admiring the beauty of the scene infront to me. The moon was casting a low glow over the lake and the thin layer of snow that still receded on some areas around the lake were reflecting and glimmering from it.
Another light caught my vision, this one brighter and fiercer as it roared to life. Blaise and Draco had light the fireplace and the rest was bundled up around it enjoying the warmth.
I walked over to the rest of them taking a seat next to Daphne. "Have you been here before?" I asked her, wondering if this was a common place for the student or if it was just something that the Slytherins had found.
"No never" she said looking around. "But I guess there's a lot of hidden spots around here. I mean it quite a big lake".
Nodding along with her I saw Enzo approaching us. "Hello ladies" he said taking a seat next to me.
"You feeling alright?" I asked him, a little bit worried about his drunken state.
"Never been better" he said bopping my nose. "You ladies wanna help put out some fireworks?"
"Sure" I said and we followed Enzo who lead us back towards the woods where Blaise and Theo were waiting. Blaise casted a spell on one of the bigger rocks making it float in the air reviling a big hole stashed with fireworks. "Let the fun begin" Theo said rubbing his hands in excitement before jumping down the hole and beginning to hand the boxes of fireworks to us.
