Borrowed time; Mattheo Riddle

Chapter 3

Mattheo's pov

As we seated ourselves at the Slytherin table waiting for Dumbledore to have his unnecessarily long speech and the hat to sort all the annoying first years in to their houses I couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit of sadness. Although school is the most boring shit ever it's has been a way to escape the never-ending darkness and treacherous life at home, and the 5 Slytherins I now unexpectedly calls my friends has filled my last few years with moment of actual happiness. Although I would never admit to it they might be the closest thing I will ever have to a family. They have kept me sane when everything else in my life has been trying to suck me in to an endless hole of darkness and insanity. All 5 of the Slytherins were fucked up in their own way. Having death eater parents and horrendous home lives they found comfort in each-others understanding and pain. But what was to come ones they were all out of here? Ones they are all thrown back in to the claws of their parents?

Eww why was I thinking this way stop being a bitch and pull yourself together I thought.

My train of thought was then interrupted when Dumbledore mentioned a new student staring 7th year.

"Everybody please welcome Miss Bella Lenox" the wooden doors opened and in walked a brown haired witch, seemingly scanning the room over while making her way to the front.

"Thats her! That's the girl I meet on the train" Pansy excitedly expressed.

"She's hot" Theo exclaimed. "Yeh like really hot" Enzo chipped in. "Stop drooling both of you before you scare her away" Pansy gave the boys a warning look.

"Take it easy Pans you don't even know what house she's in, for all we know she could be a Hufflepuff or even worse Gryffindor" Malfoy said disgusted by the thought of Gryffindors.

"No she's definitely a Slytherin I can feel it" she said with confidence. Pansy has this weird idea that she's a physic for some unknown reson, which she definitely isn't, but her gut feeling has proven too be right a few more times then we all liked to admit.

"Slytherin" the hat shouted. "Told you" Pansy smugly grinned before waving the new girl over. She took a seat next to Pansy, which conveniently happened to be right across from me. Pansy introduced her to the boys, noticing I was the last one to be named I looked upp meeting the emerald green eyes of the girl across from me. "And last but not least Mattheo Riddle" Pansy said. The emerald green eyes leaving mine to travel across the boys she has just been introduced to, "Bella Lenox, nice to meet you all". She didn't seem faced by mine name which kind of bothered me, I liked seeing the fear flicker in their eyes when they realized who I was, but she gave it no thought.

Malfoy being Malfoy obviously had to intrude and leave a comment on her potentially absent parents when the topic came up, expecting her to be mad or hurt by it I was quite surprised by her answer and had to force myself not to show my amussed face at the way she quickly shut him upp.

Coming back to my dorm later that evening I found myself intrigued by the girl. Not only did I find myself wondering where I have heard her last name before but also the surprising fact that Snapes her godfather.

Bella's pov

Knock Knock, "Bella you upp? It's Pansy"

"Yeh, just a second" I said putting away the book I was reading and opening the door to let Pansy in. I had woken upp early this morning wanting to take a quick shower and settle my nerves for the day. "You ready for breakfast?" she asked. "Yeh let's go" I said as I gathered my books before heading out.

We walked in to the great hall taking a seat at the far end were Blaise, Draco and Mattheo were sitting. "Morning guys" Pansy said taking a seat. I sat down beside her and a few moment later Enzo and Theo joined in. We compared schedules and it calmed me down realizing that I had most of my classes with at-lest one of them. Ones we had all finished we headed off to our classes, first upp was History of magic with Pansy. The day went by faster then expected and the group were all sitting in the common room talking before heading to dinner.
