Bellas pov

Draco had showed up the morning after his outburst and apologized to Pansy. He still hadn't explained why he had been absent or were he was going but from the sound that emitted trough the walls I would say she forgave him.

It was a Saturday and I had a particularly difficult essay to write for transfiguration so I decided to head to the library hopping to get some peace and quiet. It was almost completely empty expect for some third years who seemed to be playing with gobstones in the back left corner.

I settled down by a table close to were the books I would need for the essay stood. I only had time to work on it for a few minutes before someone caught my eye. A brown head of curls was sneaking behind some shelves. I recognized the statue of his body and my curiosity spiked, why was Mattheo sneaking around in the library?

Suspecting he hadn't seen me yet I got up and followed him. He moved quickly keeping to the shadows and I was about to call out to him to ask what he was doing until I saw what he was walking towards... The restricted section.

He stopped in front of the iron gate and I snuck behind a shelf peaking around the corner. Mattheo mumbled some words quietly and the lock on the gate feel open. I was shocked for a few seconds at how he managed to break trough such a powerful spell. I mean a lot of students at this school has tried and it had been deemed almost impossible for anyone who hasn't been granted access from Dumbeldore. He walked trough the gate carelessly and just pushed the gate behind him allowing it to close on its own while he walked on. I was quick to catch it before it closed completely and quietly snuck in behind him.

This area looked older, the shelfs made of a darker wood with golden details and the small tables placed around the floors were filed with strange objects, most  preserved inside glass containers. The lights were low and the air somehow felt heavier. Mattheo was nowhere to be seen so I reluctantly made my way forward until I came across a spiral staircase leading downwards.

It was even darker down here but I moved along the corridor until it opened up to a bigger room, bookshelves lining the walls and a big round table placed in the middle. The light on the table was lit and Mattheo sat reading from a big old book. As if he felt my presence his head shot up, his eyes scanning the room before landing on me.

"What are you doing down here?" he asked closing the book infront of him.

"I could ask you the same thing" I slowly walked closer, eventually standing opposite him by the table.

"Did you follow me?"

"Maybe, maybe not" he raised an eyebrow at my answer, apparently not pleased with it. "What are you reading?" The cover was black but there was no title or other form of words on it.

He stood up walking around the table stopping a few inches from me. "Now why would my sweet little angel be following me huh?"

"I wasn't following you. I was in the library and then I say you sneaking around. I just got curious" I answered shrugging my shoulders.

He hummed a response as he rounded me making me back in to the table. "And what were you doing in the library this early on a Saturday?"

"Studying. Now what are you doing here?"

"You got very pretty eyes, you know that?" he was dangerously close to me. I was fighting with every fiber of my body not to smash my lips against his.

"That wasn't an answer" I responded, inhaling a sharp breath as he came even closer. His breath fanned my neck as he whispered in my ear, "When you tell me your secret, I'll tell you mine". He then placed the softest of kisses right below my ear, making goosebumps form along my body.
