TRANSFORM

I could see darkness around me, but I couldn’t move. The pain that was coursing through my body wouldn’t let up, and I wondered when it would end.

Soon, the black cloud cleared from my view. One by one, my brothers were revealed, and I could tell they were experiencing the same pain I felt.

Ares’ eyes glowed a dark red. Gabriel’s eyes glowed a fiery orange, and Amadi’s eyes glowed gold. I tried my best to encourage them.

Brothers, stay strong. Don’t give up.

Suddenly, I was released from the hold. I fell to the ground and screamed from the rush of pain in my chest. My breaths were deep and slow, causing it to subside.

Ares and Gabriel were released next. They both screamed in agony as Amadi followed.

“What the fuck is going on?!” Gabe was the first to speak.

We all stood to our feet, trying to stabilize ourselves. The dark mist began to slowly recede, letting a white glow come into view.

“The transformation is complete.”

A bald beautiful woman walked through the light. She had black skin that looked like satin along with sparkling gold lips and eyes.

She was over 8 feet tall. As she got close, our eyes looked up to her. I realized the pain in my body had gone away.

“Goddess Mother,” Amadi spoke.

“Yes.”

We all went to our knees and bowed. It was such an honor to finally be in her presence.

“Please stand.”

We did as she asked, and I could feel the strength in my body increase.

“I have waited for this moment before you all were even conceived. Although there were many obstacles, I believed it prepared you all for this very moment and for what comes your way in the future.”

Her eyes focused on me.

“Ethan, the oldest brother. You are the king of the Abyssian tribe. Darkness is bad for many but power for you. Your leadership and strength are truly unmatched. All things beneath the light you will rule over.”

I gave her a nod. Then Goddess Mother looked at Amadi.

“Amadi, born of the Crescian ruler. You are the king of the Goldence tribe. Your power is pure and healing. Nature is where life is abundant but also destroyed. You will rule over it.”

“Gabriel, there’s a dual energy inside of you. It’s dark and bright at the same time. You’re the king of the Eclipse tribe which is filled with chaos and stability. Both are needed to keep order.”

Her eyes met Ares.

“King of the Crimsian tribe. Your thirst for blood is what creates justice in unjust situations. Savagery is in your nature. You’ll be the judge and jury of the unruly.”

We stood as our energies swirled around our bodies. Goddess Mother went back into the light, and one by one, we faded away.

A week has passed, and my sons have not returned. I knew not to worry, but the human inside of me wouldn’t let me rest.

“Mommy, when are my brothers coming back?”

I looked at Imani as sadness filled her eyes. She loved them so much. They were her heroes.

“They’ll be back soon, baby.”

Soon, one of my butlers walked into the library.

“My queen, the dressmaker is here.”

I forgot that he was coming today for my future daughter-in-law’s dress fitting. I got up to go greet the designer.
