Meera sat on the swing in the balcony intently gazing down at the lake with a heavy heart. Her eyes and face were devoid of any emotion but her heart was filled with guilt.
It was the moment that she realised that she loved Yash, she felt guilty. She was guilty that she had hidden the darkest secrets of her life from the one she loved.
She was scared contemplating how he would react when he came to know of her secret. A lone tear escaped her eye as she bent her head down.
Everyone was basking with happiness that the State of Rajasthan will finally coronate their prince as the King tomorrow but, she was guilty. She trusted Yash with her life the moment she realised her love for him.
Breathing out an exasperated sigh she shrugged off her guilt not letting it affect her mood. She had to be happy, it was the biggest day of her husband's life and insanely special for her at the same time.
The door of their room creaked open as Yash entered inside. He frowned upon not finding Meera sleeping. The creaking sounds from the chain of the swings told him of her presence.
He walked out and found Meera immersed in thoughts unaware of his presence. He stood there by the door gazing at her. Her hair was tied in a low bun and a few locks unfurled from it framing her face.
Her face gleamed under the moonlight, a small button nose, chiselled face, plump lips and orbs he would love to drown in the depths of.
Meera, he called. She lifted her head and their eyes met. The unsaid emotions that transcend their words in the tranquillity of the night were enough to calm her restless heart.
He frowned upon finding glimpses of tears in her eyes and frantically walked towards her. Kya Hua aap ro rahi hain? He questioned cupping her face.
Nahin bas soch rahe the ke kya ham us samman ke layak bhi hain jo logon ne hamein diya hai, she answered. Her voice was barely over a whisper breaking at the end.
Yash's thoughts went to her question, what could make her think she doesn't deserve the respect she's getting? He sighed and hugged Meera keeping her head on his chest, near his heart.
Aapko pata hai Meera ham kabhi shaadi karna hi nahin chahte the. He spoke in a raspy voice looking at the lake outside. Hamein karni padi kyunki Dada Ss ne hamein majboor kar diya tha. Pehle hamein bhi aisa hi laga tha ke kaisi hongi hamari patni.
Par, phir Dada Sa ne hamein aapki tasveer dikhaai. Us tasveer ko dekhakar hi ham raazi ho gaye the tab toh hamein yeh bhi nahin pata tha ke aapki haan hai bhi ya nahin.
Hamne Dada Sa se yahin sawaal kiya tha, ke aap hamari patni to ban jayengi par kya hamari Maharani Sa ban payengi? She looked at him intently.
Unhone toh bas kaha tha ke aapse behtar Maharani hamein nahin mil sakengi par, hamne toh mehsoos kiya tha is baat ko. Aapki aankhon ka tej, aapka logon ki madad karne ka jazba, ladne ki takat, sab kuch.
Kabhi socha hai aapne ke log aapko Thakurani kyon kehte hain? He asked staring into her eyes. Because my lady, you were born to rule, you're not a queen but an empress. Aur hamara saubhagya hai ke hamein aap jaisi patni mili.
Par hamein aapse kabhi ummeed nahin thi that you'll doubt yourself like that, she spoke disappointed at her question.
You were the one who became my pillar of support Meera, aap hamari aankhen dekhakar bata deti hain ke hamare man mein kya hai. Hamne kabhi kisi ko apne upar itna haq nahin diya par aapke aate hi, sab kuch badal gaya.
