I can't deny the excitement pooling within me at this point, it feels surreal to even think that my childhood bestie is getting married. Their story though, has been nothing short of a scandal.
We landed in Goa an hour back along with our family and friends. Avi's wedding is going to be a close-knit affair much to my relief. Next morning is the Mehendi Ceremony to kickstart the wedding celebrations.
As I stand here, eight months along the journey of my marriage, life has only been better each day. It becomes better, if you have the right person by your side, I have the best when it comes to that.
Never had I imagined to feel the freedom I do now. I am bound by my duties and responsibilities now too, but they don't come in the way of my life with myself or my family anymore.
It's just amazing how easy it gets to navigate through the path of life if you have the right traveler by your side, no matter how rocky the road gets at some point.
Much to my dismay, my wife has been busy since the moment we landed, I want her by my side. Though there's no point in the day where I don't want her by my side. Even my alone times aren't alone anymore, she's a part of it and a part of me.
Every evening, she helps me look after the duties as the Head Of State and then, to conclude our days we walk. We take a walk in our garden with a cup of hot chocolate or Kesar Doodh, it's the most relaxing thing ever.
Unwinding my day with her, I tell her about my day and she does the same. Our walks consist of some talks and a long stretched silence which doesn't feel awkward in the slightest. Silence with her feels comforting.
Two slender arms encircled around my torso breaking my reverie and the scent that manages to drive me insane and calm me at the same time hit my nostrils.
I turned to face her and as usual, no words were exchanged for us to know how drained both of us were from the journey and all the work past week. She tightened her hold and my arms snaked around her waist. Her head that rested on my chest till now turned to meet my eyes snd she placed a kiss on my chest, right over my heart.
This, is one such gesture of hers that never fails to make me giddily sick in my stomach and flutter my heart at the same time. We moved in our room and she sat on the bed waiting for me while I freshened up.
I climbed onto the bed and stretched out placing my head in her lap. Her fingers raked through my tresses relaxing every part of me. Our eyes bore into each others not wanting to leave the comfort of our gazes.
The only question that lingered within both our eyes was, "How did we manage to come this far?" A chuckle left her lips making me realise that I said it out loud.
This is just the beginning, Rana Sa. Abhi toh saari umar saath mein kaatni baaki hai, she answered making me smile. Sleep engulfed me but, I did feel her shifting me from her lap to a pillow and kissing my forehead before drifting into sleep.
The next morning, I woke up from my slumber with the sound of birds chirping and tides clashing on the shores. I looked beside me to find Meera snuggled in my chest, the best morning view.
Her tresses framed her face freeing themselves from the knot on her crown. I got off the bed entangling our legs and went to get ready, not before ordering breakfast. It was eight thirty when I got ready and came out of the bathroom to find Meera rubbing her eyes.
Good morning, m'lady. I greeted and she wished back lazily. She walked straight to the bathroom and twenty minutes later, came out wearing a bathrobe. The robe hugged her body at all the right places and just a hint of her cleavage was visible.
