Meera
4 Years Later...
My eyes fluttered open with the brightness peeping through the windows. Groaning, I sat up straight, it was four in the morning. Yash was still asleep beside me, he was working till late last night, I let him sleep and changed into my gym clothes.
Slowly tiptoeing into the adjoining room, I scanned the surroundings. Khushi and Khushali were still deep in their sleep. They're truly the light of our lives, everyone loves them to the moon and back in the family.
Well, the two little monsters are nothing like each other. Khushi is notorious and a social butterfly while Khushali is more of a homebody. Khushi is more inclined towards me while Khushali soughts to Yash.
He's been the greatest support of my life, stood by me through everything these past years. He's a great father, the best man I could've ever chosen to be the father of my girls.
Their grandparents love them a lot, literally spoiling them to the fullest while both their sets of Kaku Sa and Kaki Sa pamper them over the weekends. Abhiraj and Jairaj too got married. Abhi got married when both the girls were one and Jai got married last year.
Both Tridha and Keshika have been my little sisters, well considerably so, both of them are as important as Advi to me. Advi is getting married later this year, feels surreal how beautiful our lives have turned out to be.
It's Sarurday today, which means breakfast is going to be a chatty affair. Well, both our little buddies enjoy being a helping hand in the kitchen a little too much. And, Yash and me have a flight to catch tomorrow evening.
It's his thirty-fifth birthday next week and, it's been long since we've had time for ourselves. I booked a trip Singapore to compensate the lack of time.
Once done with my workout, I completed my morning routine. Thankfully, both the girls are early birds, they too woke up. Before going for breakfast, they came into the bedroom and hugged my legs. I sat on the ground and was tackled into a tight hug by both of them.
"Good morning, mumma." The squealed.
"Good morning bachchas. Let's wake your Baba up." I gestured towards a sleeping Yash.
Khushali jumped onto Yash's back, patting it with her small fists. "Baba, utho bhi, you sondu." She whined making me laugh. The man sleeps like a log. Khushi grabbed the bottle of water and before I could react, emptied the entire bottle on him.
That worked, he woke up with a jolt, not strong though. Upon finding both the girls smiling sheepishly at him, he mockingly glared at them and turned his face to the other side.
Khushi scrunched her face in irritation at his antics. "Okay no problem, if someone doesn't want to spend time with us, we'll go to Kaku Sa, come Khushu." She mocked back leaving me amused.
The next second, both of them ended up sprawled on the bed bursting into fits of laughter as Yash tickled them. "Sorry, Baba. Stop tickling us, please." Khushali pouted.
"Good morning," both of them wished him pecking his cheeks. Within a second, both of them were off to the stairs.
"Good morning, Rana Sa." I wished him. Taking my palm, he yanked me towards him, resulting in me ending up on his lap.
