1 Year Later...
The moon gleamed bright cutting through the darkness of the night. Soft winds flowing through, the lake casted the perfect shadow of the moon above it. With her legs dipped in water, Meera sat deep in her thoughts.
The past year had been a new experience for her. It felt new to live without the fear of being harmed, of being under threat. She felt happy, free and the best she'd ever felt. A small smile made its way to her lips as her thoughts drifted to Yash.
He was everything she had ever wanted in life, the most secure man out there. The way both of them synchronised, just felt right. A throat clearing sound cut through her tranquility, there he was, Yash.
"Where are you lost, Rani Sa?" He asked handing her a cup of hot chocolate.
Upon not getting a response, he'd understood that she might be emotional. It's happening a lot these days, her mood swings are really frequent, which didn't go unnoticed by him.
He gently slid his palm over hers, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles. Her heart fluttered at the silent gesture, his declaration of presence. That's the thing about their relationship that she admired the most, the way both of them didn't need words to communicate.
Giving him a soft, assuring smile, she placed her head on his chest, his arm encircled protectively around her waist. The serenity of the atmosphere engulfed their hearts as well, filling them with warmth and care.
"I love you, Rana Sa." Meera murmured suddenly, her voice barely over a whisper.
He turned towards her face, placing his lips on her forehead, she got her answer. She curled herself into his lap feeling cold.
"It's getting cold, let's move inside." He suggested picking her up in his arms. She was startled by the sudden move, her face tutled to look at his, finding his eyes focused on the stairs.
He gently placed her back on the ground as they reached their room but, her steps faltered.
"You okay, Rani Sa?" Yash questioned upon noticing her staggering steps.
"Y-Yes just, just a bit dizzy." That was the last thing she spoke before things blacked out.
He caught her before she could fall. His heart raced finding her eyes closed. "Meera." He called patting her cheeks.
He carried her to the bed, placing her securely, he called the doctor frantically. Asking one of the butlers to escort the doctor to his room, he sat by Meera's side.
Placing her head in his lap, he sprinkled a few drops of water. Her eyes crinkled and fluttered open, he heaved a sigh of relief.
His eyes scanned her face, finding it paler than usual. Her eyes drooped, out of tiredness. He found it unusual to witness her tiredness. She was really active during the day. His restlessness grew further upon noticing signs of distress on her face. A knock cut through his thoughts.
"Come in." He allowed the doctor who looked at him asking about the scenario. Upon explaining everything to the doctor, he questioned her about those signs that he noticed.
