Meera
One more sleepless night on the way, no matter how many years pass by, I'd never get used to violence. Not only because it is something I hate but because it has even adverse effects. But, no one deserves mercy when they target the innocent. Arjun had a problem with me, he should've come and dealt with me. He chose the wrong route so now, I'll be the one to bring it on the right track.
"Dinner's ready, m'lady." Yash's voice broke my reverie. Since the day we've shifted to Mumbai which has been about ten days now, he cooks at least one meal a day.
Dinner passed by in silence, complete silence. That's the one thing I love about Yash, he never disturbs my silence. He knows that I go utterly silent when stressed and he doesn't mind it, in fact, he goes silent with me too. The first time that he did it, I'd asked him for the reason and what he said still warms my heart till it melts down to a puddle.
He said, "Sheher ke shor se bachne ke liye log sahil par jate hain. Aapke shabd tham jane par, aapki dhadkan, hamara wahin sahil ban jati hai."
Maybe I need the same today. I changed into my nightwear and completed my night routine. As I walked out, I saw him reading a book stretched out on the bed. I went and laid down placing my head on his chest, right above his heart.
The rhythmic beating of his heart worked as the best medicine ever possible. The raging anxiety within my nerves calmed to an extent as his fingers raking through my scalp were a gentle yet reassuring reminder that, he'll be there by my side, no matter what.
He closed the book and placed it on the side table. Gently putting my head in his lap, he pressed the acupressure points gently. The throbbing headache seemed to vanish bit by bit as his fingers worked their way. My eyes fell shut with the amount of relaxation flowing through me. I drifted to sleep peacefully, I'd never anticipated that for tonight.
A pleasant morning. Surprisingly, I didn't wake up with raging heartbeat or a nightmare with sweat trickling down my neck. I woke up fresh. It's just five in the morning but I feel good about today, as if something's about to change.
As I look beside me, this is the view I wish to wake up every morning with. Yash was sleeping on his stomach, his hair disheveled and sticking to his forehead and his lips, slightly parted. I bopped his nose and a giggle left my mouth. He sleeps like a baby.
I got up and got ready for the day. Meditating seemed to be the best option for today morning and so, I went with it. After about forty minutes of a successful meditation, I began with making breakfast. A short while later, I decided to put an end to someone's beauty sleep.
"Yash, uth jaiye, sun's shining bright." I cooed causing him to groan in annoyance. He did get up and rushed straight to the bathroom. Once he came out after a span of twenty minutes. He was in his bathrobe.
"Do you have your boxers on?" I asked. He gaped at me but nodded nevertheless.
I slid off his bathrobe and tucked his bulletproof vest in. He wore a shirt above it and then his pants. Locking a holster in his pants, I placed his licensed weapon in there and, a pocket knife in his combat boots as well. All this while, I was aware of his intense stare upon me but I chose to ignore it. There was no way I was going to meddle things when it came to his safety, that's my topmost priority.
I walked into the closet and stripped my clothes off as well. Locking the bulletproof vest in place, I layered my shirt over it. It was a black tank top tucked into my jeans. I had a few knives strapped into my jacket, a couple of them in my pockets and two in my combat boots as well. Locking the holster in place, I took my revolver and secured it in place.
