YashrajThe moment her hand fell from mine, my soul left my body and an ear piercing scream left past my throat.
MEERAAAA...
I tapped her cheeks but to no avail, she didn't answer my pleas or responded to my touch. Tears blurred my vision as I watched my life slip out of me. The car came to hault mere minutes later and I ran into the hospital with her in my arms.
A few nurses came along with the stretcher and rushed her into the OT, her father was completing the formalities and all of us stood helplessly outside the room.
A few minutes passed before a doctor emerged out of the room, his expression was unreadable.
"She has serious internal injuries four of her ribs are broken and there's swelling on her lungs, it's difficult to say if she'll survive this." He deadpanned.
My temper soared at his words, I held him from his collars gritting my teeth. "What the heck do you mean by she won't survive this? You're a fucking doctor for a reason, help her, I want her safe and sound." I seethed, my voice has raspy yet dark, trembling with rage.
He gulped and nodded as he went back in. I plopped down on the chair, helplessly staring through the glass. All those halpy times with her flashed before my eyes and so did Arjun's face. Fury coursed through my viens as a silent vow escaped my lips, the vow of his destruction.
Four hours had passed, by now our entire family had come to know of her condition and everyone was helplessly praying.
One more hour went by before the doctor finally appeared out of the OT. Her father beat me to it and frantically began questioning the doctor of Meera's condition. The doctor silenced him and took a sharp breathe before he began.
"The surgery was successful, clots have been removed but, it was strenous and had taken a toll on her health forcing her body to be pushed into comatose state. Her condition remains critical as of now and, if she doesn't regain consciousness within forty-eight hours then, I 'm sorry."
He went away with that, leaving is all to take in the words he'd just uttered. Her father fell on the chair with a thud while my condition was no better.
It felt as if air had been knocked out of my lungs. My breathing grew ragged and uneven with each passing moment as the information seeped through me. The wall my legs felt jelly and I fell on the ground as my back hit the wall.
"Bhai Sa." Abhi's scream jolted me. He rushed to me and began shaking me by my shoulders as the panick attack approached.
"I-I can't b-breathe, A-Abhi, I n-need her, p-please."
He rubbed my back soothingly, urging me to breathe deeply. He shook my face gently counting as I forced air into my lungs. Both him and Jai helped me to stand on my feet and helped me sit on the chair.
"Bhai Sa please, calm down. Bhabhi Maa needs us to be strong at the moment. We'll take you to her ward so that you can see her but, you can only talk to her once you get a hold of yourself, till then we'll meet her and leave you alone with her then, okay?" He asked.
