"What are you doing!" I say to whoever grabbed my arm
"Stopping you from getting into a fight" Link says "the whole pub could hear you two screaming at each other" he says
"Well she..." I say but I just give up with words and sigh
"Hey Link" she says in a flirtatious tone brushing her hand past his, she's doing this on purpose to piss me off I just want to hit her!
"It's okay, calm down" he says putting his hand on the side of my face "your getting so riled up for no reason" he says pulling me closer to him
"It's not for no reason!" I say pulling away from him but failing
"Yes it is, she's winding you up, like you said earlier if their words and actions don't affect us then they cant hurt us" he says moving his hand from my face and into my hand
"It'll be okay," I say with a deep breath
"It'll be o--"
"I don't know why he's still with her, everyone knows she slept with Ganondorf" someone says, very loudly
Link's pov
I see Zelda's face drop, all emotion turn to sadness, they shouldn't be saying shit, they don't know anything
I pull out a a chair and stand on it "can I get your attention please!" I say and loads of eyes suddenly turned to look at me
"Link...what are you doing?" Zel asks her eyes urging me to step off the chair but she doesn't say anything
"Keep your allegations to yourself, you don't know the full story" I say staring at the two girls who made the comment
"Link, get down!" Zelda says through her teeth "please!" She says in a more desperate tone so I get off the chair "why did you do that?" She asks tears running down her cheeks
"Because I thought it would stop people from spreading lies," I say
"You cant stop the lies! It's part of life you just have to deal with it" she says before running out of the pub
"Well done genius" I hear Impa whisper under her breath
"I was just trying to help!" I say, I wanted to scream at her, she shouldn't talk to me like that, I'm a human too I have feelings
"We know, and I applaud you for doing that it takes a lot of courage" Riju says with a small smile
"Should I go out to her?" I ask the young girl but she shakes her head
"She'll be okay with Impa, she just needs some time to breathe" Riju says and I sigh "don't be sad Link" she says
"I'm not, I'm just...scared" I say and she gives me a confused look
"Why?" She asks, was I really going to spill my guts to a 15 year old? Apparently I was
We sit down and she passes me a pint of beer "where on Hylia's green earth did you get this?"
"Impa's" she says, that makes sense
I don't think Impa would be pleased that I'm drinking her beer so I push it away
"So why are you scared?" She asks, I feel like I'm in therapy but my therapist is a fifteen year old girl and the scenery is a pub
"I feel like I'm messing everything up, I feel like Zelda's always mad at at me and that we're always in a fight" I say and Riju simply sits and listens to me
Zelda's pov
What on earth was he thinking! He's never going to be able to stop the rumours, there always going to be there
"Zel are you okay?" Impa asks running out after me
"Yeah I just need some air" I say trying to get as much oxygen in my lungs as possible
"It's okay" she says with a warming smile
"Why did he do that! He's just going to make everything worse!" I say and Impa puts her hand on my arm
"He's just trying to help Zel" she says
"It was such a stupid thing to do!" I say with a sigh
"Go and talk to him, tell him how you feel" she says and I hesitate
"Do you think he'll be upset with me?" I ask and she shakes her head
"He's just worried about you, he doesn't want you to be sad, and people gossiping does make you sad" she says taking my hand and leading me back into the pub
I walk back into the pub with Impa and I see Link talking to Riju, he looks so calm
Suddenly he looks up at me and stands up to greet me "hey, are you okay?" He asks and I nod
"I'm sorry" I say hugging him tightly
"It's okay, I shouldn't have done it" he says and Riju gives him a look, I've never seen that look from her before
"You were just trying to help right?" I ask and he nods "I shouldn't be so sensitive but i do think that was really stupid" I say and I can tell that he wanted to say something but his eyes shift to Riju
"What is going on?" I ask turning to Riju and she quickly pulls out her phone
"Nothing" she says looking over the top of it "I'm just texting my friend" she says and phones Link buzzes
Do they think I'm stupid? "Give me your phone" I say and he willingly gives it to me, I didn't expect that
*I'm sorry about yesterday*, it was Ravio not Riju "you might want to respond to this" I say passing him back his phone
"Do you want me to tell you what happened?" He asks but I don't respond straight away
"Not here" I say looking around, lots of people were looking at us thanks to that stunt Link pulled
"Well I'm going to get Impa to drop me home so Urbosa can knock some sense into her" Riju says
"Since when was Urbosa good at giving love advice" I ask with a small laugh
"Since like forever!" She says excitedly
"Who are you crushing on?" I ask and he cheeks go bright pink before running off
"Shall we go home?" Link asks and I nod so we walk out of the pub, following Riju
