I wait for Aryll in my car outside her school "hey Zelda" she says opening the car door
"Hey Ryll, how was your day?" I ask and she nods excitedly
"I made new friends!" She says and I grin at her
"Thats amazing Ryll!" I say as she hugs me
"Hey Zel" Riju says sitting on the middle seat "I heard Link fainted earlier" she says and I squeeze my eyes shut
"What!" Aryll says, she's like her brother, she never shouts she just speaks in calm tones unless their really upset
"Yeah, I was going to tell you...wait how do you know?" I ask Riju turning to face her
"Urbosa" she says
"Right" I say, "well as you both know it's Link's birthday tomorrow and I need your help" I say with a small smile
"Are we going to just brush past the fact my brother fainted!" Aryll says her voice raising ever so slightly
"He's fine! Urbosa promised he was" Riju says handling the 11 year old for me
"He was just tired, he hasn't been sleeping right" I tell her
"Remember when you used to faint" Ri says and I nod with a small sigh "it happened all the time" she says
"I know, Riju, I was there" I say "although mine were stress induced not because I was sleep deprived" I say before waving my hands "anyway I need both of your help" I say
"Its Link's birthday and you want to throw him a surprise party" Riju says
"Am I that predictable?" I ask with a small frown
"It's not a bad idea Zel, but if you actually want to surprise him you'll want to do something different"
"Like what?" I ask her and she shrugs
"Give him a birthday he'll never forget" she says before jumping out the car
"Do you want me to drop you off at Urbosa's?" I ask and she shakes her head
"I'm going round to Kheel's I'll talk to you later yeah?" She says before running off
"What do you think?" I ask Aryll
"When I was little Mom used to take Link out on a picnic in a place called Korok Forest but it stopped when our birthdays didn't matter anymore" she says
I know exactly how she feels different circumstances but out birthdays were never celebrated, when my mum died my birthday was never properly celebrated, Urbosa always made sure I had a cake but it wasn't as special as mum made it feel
"Do you want to go see your mum for a few hours whilst I do some work at the house?" I ask and she nods
"I love it over here" she says as I start to drive away from her school "I cant thank you enough for doing this for us Zelda" she says and I smile at her
"I know it was difficult for you to adjust at first but you fit in perfectly" I say "so tell me about your friends" I say and she smiles
